Gotham Season Two: Second Half

Happy to say Gotham is back for the second half of season two.  They have been on a winter break since the end of November (2015).  That is a long time.  But think it is a better move than the first season.  Were they would air a new episode.  They play repeats for a few weeks before a new one again.  The first half of the season was great.  Much better than the full first season.  Think this is because it was more focused.  Looking forward to seeing what they do next.  The second half starts February 29, 2016.

There is  only a few days left in February so Sony put out the list of free games for March (2016).   PlayStation Plus members have some good chooses this month.  You can read the official blog post > here.   You will be able to download them March 1, 2016.

Broforce.  Looks like your standard 8-bit platformer. However it big on the action and the destruction.

Galak-Z.  This is a Japanese space shooter.

The Last Guy.  It looks like you are playing Google Maps to save people from huge bugs.

Super Stardust HD.  Move in any direction space shooter.

Flame Over.  A twin stick shooter were your gun is a fire hose

Reality Fighters.  A fighting game were you can put you face on a character.

Fitbit Charge Review

Have had my Fitbit Charge for over a month now.  So think it is time for a review.  The main reason I bought one was to track my sleep.  Have worn it every night.  Know it’s not going to be a hundred present accurate but a good guild.  On average get about six hours of sleep and wake up about 30 times a night.  Not sure if that is bad or normal.  Plan to see a doctor soon.

As for the device it’s self is very well build.  The material is very light.  After wearing it for a while you don’t even feel it.  It is very simple to use.  There is only one button on the side.  You set option and what not though the website.  You can use a smart phone with Bluetooth or you can use a computer.  It come with a a USB dongle.  Once you install the program.  The USB syncs with the Fitbit.  Then a webpage opens.  That is were you can set options for the device its self.  All so set up diet and exercise stuff.

Over all am very impressed it.  Wear it to work every shift, wear to bed every night and have not had any problems with it.  The battery is impressive as well.  Can get over a week on one charge.  The battery charging doesn’t take long, about two hours.  If you are looking into getting one of these fitness trackers this is a great model to buy.

Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Volume 1

Back in September (2015) leaned that Batman and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were teaming up for a new comic book mini-series.  The first issue was out that December.  When I first read this this I as supper happy because these are my two favourite comic book heroes.  Knew at some point there would be a trade paperback out.  Happy to say from the listing on Amazon.ca > here it will be out July 19, 2016.  Have added it to my wish list.  Can’t wait to read it.

Dead Can Dance – Host Of The Seraphim

Have said this is many past musical throwback Thursday.  Is to try and pick different styles of music I like.  This weeks one is a lot different.  It is Host of the Seraphim by Dead Can Dance.  The song is off their 1988 album called The Serpent’s Egg.  The first time I head this song was a remixed version by Paul Oakenfold.  Which you can hear > here.  The the next I heard the song was in the movie The Mist.  It was used really well in the movie.  One of those cool and trip songs.  You can see/hear the official music video > here or below.

Bastion

Back near the end of January (2016) Sony had a flash sale on the PlayStation Store.  One of the games I bought was Bastion.   Have heard get things about this game and seen some video.  Got around to playing it a few night back.  Have to say it is pretty great.  Sure it has many game play elements we all have played lots of times before.   The big differences is the voice over.  There is a guy narrating what is going on in the world, what you are doing and gives you hints on what to do next.  It is pretty cool.   Have only played a few levels so far.  Were were all good.  It was well worth the money so far.

Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Review

Start off with I did it.  Managed to complete 100% of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.  That would be the first time with any Assassin’s Creed games.  That goes to show how much fun this game is.  In past games would get close but trying to get all the missions done with in the parameters they set can be a pain.  But would give up.  Sure some of them are a pain in this game.  So I had to look up how other did.  Was still fun to go back and try again.

The game play is pretty much the same as past games but different at the same time.  However left like a real bad ass with both characters you play.  Getting and crafting better gear is nice.  All the the levelling and perks systems is great as well.  The story was the strongest in a very long time.  They felt more like how real people would interact with each other.  All so there was some good comedy worked in.

This game is so much better than the one before it, Unity.  This is what an Assassin’s Creed should be.  Big open world with lots of side mission and things to collect.  With a great story that is interesting and well acted.  This is now my second favourite AC game.  Like is some much thinking about getting the DLC and I never buy that stuff.  If you never played one of these games this is a good one to start with.  If you have this is a return to form.

Marvel’s Daredevil – Season 2 Official Trailer

Comic book and superhero fans have been getting lots of great stuff on TV and the movies.  Looks like the trend is still going.  Which is awesome.  Netflix has put out a trailer for season two for  Marvel’s Daredevil.  Had to watch it three times.  It is pretty amazing.  Must admit I still have finished watching the first season yet.  Will have to do it soon because the new season starts March 18, 2016.  From what I watched from the first season.  The show is pretty sweet.  The second season looks even better.  You can see the trailer > here or below.  They are saying this is a part one trailer.  So part two should be out soon.

The Division Open Beta Hands On

Spent part of the weekend playing The Division open beta on the PS4.  Back when it was in closed beta watched a bunch of videos.  It looks pretty cool.  So I was looking forward to playing.  It is much better to play it than watch.  There is more to see than what the video streams I watched showed.  There are many side missions to try.  All so different things to collect.  Along with two main missions.   At first I was worried that you would be able to play this single player without dying a lot.  Only die twice.  Which is too bad.

Played most it single player.  However did play some of it co-op with my brother.   Which worked great.  It was easy to do as well.   When in the menu you can see who is playing.  Then choose to request from them to join you or you can just choose join them.  When playing co-op the bad guys numbers grow and they get tougher.  Which only make sense.

Only tired the PvP Dark Zone stuff for a few minutes.  I like every online shooter.  The first thing to happen was I got killed.  Opened the door to the zone.  Took a look around to get the lay of the land.  Two guys run up and shoot me.  After respawning.  Looked around some more to see if I could find and items to collect.  Found two boxes but I wasn’t the right level to open them .  So gave up on that stuff.

Played ten hours of this beta.   Over all I was impressed on how well it worked.   The gameplay is great.  The world is full of detail.  Being a beta not every thing is open to be used.  The are lots of stuff in the menus that are block off.  Speaking the the menus.  That is the biggest problem.  There a menus within menus with menus inside those.  There are icon, numbers and text what I have know idea what the mean.

Still not sure if I will be buying this game.  Am interested to see what else the game has to offer.  Just not sure if the it worth paying full price for.  Just might wait for a price drop.  The game is out March 8, 2016.

Game of Thrones Season 6: Hall of Faces Tease

HBO is at it again with another teaser trailer of season six of Game of Thrones.   They have been teasing us for months now.  Each one is pretty good.  This new one > here or below really gets the mind going.  They call it the Hall of Faces.  It show the the room full of faces.  The voice overs come up showing the face it belongs to.  Then the last two come up.  Wow, big things are going to happen.  Well we know that because no one is safe.  But it is still exciting and hart breaking as well.  The new season  starts April 24, 2016.
