The OUYA Is Dead

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry talk about the OUYA.  On June 25, 2019 Razer shutdown the servers for the OUYA.  Fell for the hype of the back in 2013.  While I didn’t back the Kickstarter. Bought one off Amazon. Haven’t used it in years. This video is about turning it on for the first time and seeing what’s new on the store.  You can see the video > here or below.

Neewer NW759 Camera Field Monitor Kit

Back in May (2019) made a post talking about camera monitors or field monitors.  These a little monitors that can sit on top of your DSLR to makes it easier to see what you are taking pictures or video of.  In that post talked about the Neewer NW759.  Looked into at the time and it seemed like the best choose of me.  It is designed for beginners and the price was right.  Have a birthday coming up.  So I ordered one.  Bought a kit version it comes with the monitor (of course), the cables, hot shoe mount, battery and charger as well as a nice case to store it in.  You can see what it looks like > here.  Should have in my hands some time this week.  This will help me out a lot when making videos for the YouTube channel I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry.

Funko – Mystery Minis

Has been awhile since I bought some Funko vinyls Mystery Minis.  Took a quick look at a local store to see if they had any new Funko products in.  It looks like they are getting rid of the section.  They didn’t have much.  But they did have some of the Horizon Zero Dawn mystery minis marked down to $5.00 each.  While I haven’t played the game they are based off (plan to at some point) bought two any way.  The ones I got are Watcher and Helis.

Robert Miles – Children

That day of the week again, musical throwback Thursday.  Seen a joke on the net talking about trying to find out a name of a song and not finding out what is called until years later.  People were posting song titles they had a hard time trying to find.  This song, Children by Robert Miles, was one of them.  When I listened to it remember hearing back in the day.  It was released a few times in 1995 and is off the album Dreamland.  You can give it a listen/watch > here or below.  Once you do you might remember it as well.

The Walking Dead Compendium 4

News to share about The Walking Dead comic books.  The forth compendium is in the works.  I have the first three compendiums.  Then have all the trade paperbacks the came after.  These means I don’t need to buy this.  However it is great news for people that might be new to the comics.  The could buy these four compendiums and pretty much be update on the stories. Well until the new comic/trade is out.  It is set to be out October 8, 2019.  If you thinks about it is pretty impressive to see one story going on so long.  Not sure if it is the longest running in comic book history.  It might just be.

OUYA Last Days

As many know (or not) that the OUYA is dead.  Razer is shutting down the severs on June 25, 2019.  I had some money left in my account.  So decided to turn it on for the first time in about five years.  Put new batteries in the controller, plug it in and tuned it on.  Was a big surprised there was no system software update.  Took a look at the games lists there were many that have been on there since day one still on the main page.  All so many others.  Did buy a few games.  Which I haven’t tired yet.  This is because I am working on make some videos on the OUYA and those games for the I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry YouTube channel.  So keep your eye out for those.

Dragon Quest Builders 2 – Trailer

Am a big fan of the first Dragon Quest Builders game.  For a long time now have known there was a second one being made call, Dragon Quest Builders 2.  Have some good news to share it will be out very soon, July 12, 2019.  This new one looks much better than the first.  It shares the same art style.  All so add some much more.  Mainly co-op, up to four people.  Another cool thing there will be a demo on the PlayStation Store June 27, 2019.  Will be downloading and trying it for sure.  You can see the trailer they showed at E3 > here or below.

Lets Talk Black

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry talk about the PlayStation 2 game Black. This was one of the games I was most looking forward to playing. This is a first person shooter that a real world look and feel to it. What I remember the most is, you could shootout glass and it sounded so real.  FPS have come a long way since this one was out.  However there is still fun to be had here.  Are you a fan of FPS on the PlayStation 2? PlayStation Gold Wireless Stereo Headset (New Model)

Back near the end of May (2019) my original PlayStation Gold Wireless Stereo Headset broke.  They were designed to fold.  Two small pieces of broke at the hinge.  Ducked taped it back together to get me though until I get a new set.  Tired to use them a few times after it broke but they don’t fit right.  Was very happy with the headset on how it works and feels.  So decided to go with the new model of the PlayStation Gold Wireless Stereo Headset.  It has all the same functions of the original.  Just smaller, lighter and don’t fold.  At first wasn’t to sure about them the ear cup seemed a bit too small.  However after playing a few hours and chatting they fit fine.  Haven’t watched a Blu-ray or Netflix with them on yet.  Think they will be fine with that as well.

PlayStation Store Flash Sale June 2019

There is a new flash sale going on in the PlayStation Store.  This one runs from today and end on June 24, 2019.  Took a look at the list and there is some real good deals to be had.  There is one I might buy, Sleeping Dogs Digital Edition.  All most bought this one so many times.  Thinks now is the time.  Its a super good price as well, $2.99.  Can’t go wrong there. [Update, never mind.  The deal is for the PS3].  You can see the full list off games > here.
