PlayStation Plus Special PS2 On PS4 Sale

While this new sale on the PSN is not a flash sale there are still great deals to be had.  This sale is for only PlayStation Plus members only.  The games on sale are PlayStation 2 games.  There are 18 in total plus one bundle to chose from.  Ranging in price from $5.00 to $9.00.  The bundle is the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy going for $17.49.  The sale runs form May 31 to June 7, 2016.  You can see what for sale > here.  One of the games is Dark Cloud.  The regular and non Plus member price is $15.  The sale price is $7.49.   Said to myself long ago, If this game every goes on sale will buy it.  The only problem is there isn’t enough money left in my account.  Will have to pick up another card tomorrow.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Patch 1.20

There is a new patch out for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.  The last and latest expansion called Blood and Wine is going to be out May 31, 2016.  So they put the patch will be out that day before.  This 1.20 patch adds all kinds of improvements and fixes.  You can read the official list > here.  They are doing lots of great fixes to the inventory and menu screens.  Which they have done is past patches.  Think these new ones will make it much better to navigate the menus.  Looking forward to seeing all the changes.  Have been playing this game a lot this past month.  Started over from the begin.  Played about 20 hours and sure most of the stuff I have played all ready.  It is still super fun.  Playing it differently than the first time around.   If you haven’t tried this game yet it is well worth the time and money.

Have the patch downloaded and installed. It is just under 7GBs.  The patch completely changes the look and how the menu systems feels.  First of they look cleaner, bigger and easier to read.  The navigation is some what easier but still clunky.  Will take some time getting used to it all over again.  The only thing I don’t like is when you press/hold L1 to pick what Sign you want to use.  You used to use the right stick.  Now it is moved to the left stick.  Not sure if this can be changed back.  Will have to look.

Tom Clancy’s The Division Update 1.2 Hands On

A few posts back talked about how there is a new 1.2 update out for Tom Clancy’s The Division.  Gave it a download and try.  The file size is just shy of 6GB.  That is about average for this type of things now.  If you have read any of the posts about this game you will know that I’m not a fan of the dark zone stuff.  Was excited to that this new patch had stuff to the open world.  So it can be played single player.

How it works is.  Once do all the main missions and side missions in a named section of the map.  All so you have to be level 30.   You got back to the safe house in that section.  Activate the mission board.  This gives you three groups of bad guys to take out.  When you defeat each group they drop a special tokens.  When you get all three you take these tokens to the base of operations.  Where you can use them to unlock daily or weekly named bad guy boss battles.

Did a few of these.  Must say it is a nice feature to have for people that have finished the main game and are not into or taking a break from the dark zone.  You can get some better gear playing these.  Can’t see it keeping me playing and playing.  But will have me picking it up every a now again to get my Division fix.

Preacher First Episode

The first episode of Preacher aired this past Sunday (May 22, 2016).    The show is based of a comic book series that shares the same name Preacher.  Have never read any of these comics.  But have hear lots of great things about it.  When I first seen the trailers though this looks like a good show.  Have to say just after just one episodes I was wrong it wasn’t good it was awesome.   Well at first didn’t find it that awesome.  Found it a bit confusing.  That was until about half way thought the episode.  Then things started to make more sense.  Can’t wait to see more.

Fear The Walking Dead Season Two Half Way

The first half of Fear The Walking Dead ended the other night (May 22, 2016).  Really enjoying this show.  Only found it hard to get back into during the first episode.  Think that was because this season started a week right after The Walking Dead season six.   The seven episodes that have aired all have been great.  Things are moving at a nice pace.  We are finding more back story information on some of the characters.  Which is nice to see.  It is all ways good when a show bring up information we want to know about.  Leaves you guessing for awhile.  Then gives you the answers.  Not sure what the second half of the season will bring.   Can’t wait.

Blur – Song 2

This weeks musical throwback Thursday is very iconic.   It is Song 2 by Blur.  The song is off their 1997 album Blur.  The have been around for a long time.  Am sure they have lots of hits.  However this is the only song I know from them.  It may be very short but it packs a punch.  Give it a listen > here or below.

Tom Clancy’s The Division Update 1.2

Am a big fan of the game Tom Clancy’s The Division.  What I liked best this the single player/co-op open world stuff.  Not so much the dark zone.  One of the problems with the game if you like what I do there in not much to do if you finish all the missions and side stuff.  Which I did.  Have some good new.  There is a new update called 1.2 out this  past Tuesday May 24, 2016.   They are adding all kinds of stuff.  Which you can read about > here.  The biggest news is if there are add ways to get better loot in the open world.  So you don’t have to do the dark zone.  All so they are add mission types to the open world called Search and Destroy and High Value Targets.  This might get me back into the game.  Will be back with an update when I try it out.

Batman: Return To Arkham

If you never played the first two Batman Arkham video games and now have a new console.  You are in luck.  Because these game are getting a remastered versions.  Batman : Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City are getting an upgrade.  Then repackaged as Batman: Return to Arkham.  The games will have all the extras and DLC that were out for them the first time around.  These are amazing games.  Well worth your time and money.  You can see the trailer > here or below at how good it looks.  Will be out July 26, 2016 for PS4 and Xbox One.

Raspberry Pi 3

For a few years now have read and seen things about Raspberry Pi.  If you never heard of this.  Basically it is a very small computer that can fit in your palm of you hand.  It has USB ports and the like.  Was designed to be used for teaching computer science and programing on the cheap.  It cost around $35.  People have taking these and have made all kinds of cool and crazy things.

Found out the other day they have a new version out called The Raspberry Pi 3.  This new version is faster of course.  The big updates it has build in Bluetooth and Wi-fi.  The reason I am taking about his cool device is.  Found out people have been turning them in the game emulation machine.  There is a website called RetroPie that shows how it is done.  Has all kinds of help, videos and documents.   It all looks pretty sweet.

Am now very interested in getting one.  You can just by the device it’s self.  Found a place that sells them in Canadian money > here for $46.13.   However over at Amazon.ca they have a kit  > here that comes with the Pi, a case, power adapter, 32 GB MicroSD card, heat sinks and a HDMI cable for $100.00.  Which if you were to try and piece out all these items on your own might end of costing you more.

Thinking about getting one of these.  It all looks pretty cool.  Watched the video on the RetroPie and it seems like I would be able to do that.  I even have a PS3 controller and a USB keyboard.  Going to think on it.  Have a birthday coming up.  These might be the gift to myself.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season Three Review

A lot of TV shows are all most finished their seasons the month.  The first one (that I follow) is Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.LD.   Their third season ended with a two hour episode on May 17, 2016.  This season has been much better than the first two.  Mostly that is because they didn’t have to tie into the movies as much.  All so there was more focus.  They were not all over the place with all kinds of side stories.

This season felt like it was two in one.  Which is a good thing because it keeps things interesting.  The first half tied up events from season two.  All so setting things up for the second half.  The second half has been the best of all the episodes for the whole series.  Sure there wasn’t a lot of fight scenes.  Which I am fine with because the ones they did have were great.  The story was at its best.  All the characters had development and good storylines.  Now looking forward to see that they do in season four.
