Copyright Strike

Have made a few posts talking about how I got a copyright takedown notice for one of my videos for the channel I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry.   Contacted the person and we worked out a deal.  They would remove the takedown so I could edit the video.  Did that and they were happy.  Well checking my email today (May 16, 2023) YouTube gave me a copyright strike and removed the video.  The strike will last 90 days or if you complete a copyright school it will shorter.  Did that, pretty simple to do.  The problem is if the person removed the takedown why you YouTube still remove the video?

Copyright Takedown Notice – Second Update

This is the third post talking about getting a copyright takedown notice for one of my videos for the channel I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry.   I made the changes they wanted.  Email them back saying that I did.  They seem find with what I did.  However then they said this, “but the ultimate decision is up to my supervisor who will let me know by mid-June(ish).”   So guessing this not over.

Copyright Takedown Notice – Update

Yesterday I made a post talking about getting a copyright takedown notice for one of my videos for the channel I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry.  Well I reached out the person that did this and ask what I can do to keep it.  They said I could edit out the still pictures/close-ups of some the comics.  Tried to edit the video but because of the takedown it wouldn’t save the edit.  Email them back to tell them this.  Thankfully the took the takedown away so I could edit.  They then said the will check in three days to see if I did any changes.  Did email them again to say I made changes and to see if they are happy with them.  Now it’s a wait and see if they are.

Copyright Takedown Notice

It has been a long time since I have worked on any projects for the YouTube channel I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry,  Well today (May 9, 2023) a received a copyright takedown notice for one of my videos.  This one > here taking about The Far Side Gallery book.  It says I have seven days to delete the video or the channel will get a copyright strike.  If you get three of these your channel gets deleted.  I have email the person back asking why they did this since the channel doesn’t make any money.  All so the book was published back in 1984.  Will see if they get back to me.  If not will have to remove the most popular video on the channel.

Minisforum UM580 Another Video

Another YouTuber, Retro Game Corps, has a video on the same mini PC I ordered.  The Minisforum UM580.  Which will ship at the end of the month (September 2022).  So very much looking forward to getting my hands on it.  You can see the video > here or below.  The main use for the computer will be games.  Do have some on Steam, Epic and GoG.  Then there is the emulation side.  Which this can do really well.  Have a big stack of PS2 I would love to play again.  Will be back will more posts once I get it my hands.

Minisforum UM580 Video

Blogged about the mini PC I ordered a, Minisforum UM580 a few times.  It hasn’t shipped yet.  That will not be until the end of the month (September 2022).  Talking about this again because the YouTuber ETA Prime put out a video on this very computer.  Which you can see > here or below.  While it is not going to run the newest AAA games.  There will be 1000’s of older ones.  All so planning on some emulation.

3D prints from the Elegoo Neptune 2

Has been awhile but back with a new video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry.  This time talking about a new 3D printer.  Back in the summer of 2021 bought myself an Elegoo Neptune 2. Here are some of the early prints, I have tied.  Am very happy with how this 3D printer works. Watch out for more project videos.  All so trying something else out new, Text to Speech.  Let me know how you think.  As for the video you can see it > here or below.

I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry Update

It has been a very long time since I have worked on any videos for I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry YouTube channel.  Mostly because I got burnt out trying to have a new video out every week.  While I did have a buffer (a few projects done ready to go) they ran out.  Then I kind of lost a bit of interest in recording my voice.  Having to do re-take after re-take.  Then to edit those files.  Thought about not doing voice overs.  However watching a video with text popping up on the screen, sucks.  Then came across the idea of using text to speech.  Watched this video > here and it’s is pretty simple to do with Windows 10 built in features,  One Note and Voice Recorder.   Have started a project using this setup.  Not sure when it will be done since that project involves 3D printing and painting.  If all works out ok.  Can see myself getting back into the YouTube game.

PlayStation Classic + Arcade Games

It has been a long time since I have hooked up my PlayStation Classic.  Some time last year (or early) I found a link to a full USB setup for it.  Which came with a lot of systems with games.  The main reason I tired it was for the Arcade games.  Never really got to play many of those.   So being able to give many a try is super cool.  Must say it works really well.  You press the select button to add coins, then start.  So it makes it easy to finish a game. Unless you get board.  They you can move onto another one.  Just wish I could remember what it was called and were I got it.

Photogrammetry And Video Games Follow Up

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry, taking about Photogrammetry again.  This time it is a follow up to the last photogrammetry video I did.  My goal is to turn the ship I use in No Man’s Sky into a 3D Model. Then 3D print it. Gave it a try with a few programs. Ended up with better results with the program Reality Capture.  Which you can see in the video > here or below.
