Removing Audio Hiss

Had some time to play around with my new Cannon EOS Rebel T5i.  Have an external microphone attached, RODE VideoMicro.  Am still learning all the features and what not.  While playing back some videos.  There is this very annoying hissing sound.  I knew I would have to adjust the audio level manually.  Which is pretty easy to do.  Just have to learn what is the best setting for that.  The biggest thing I learned was about removing the hiss with the program Audacity.  This program has been around for a long time.  Used it a few times back on my first computer.  Found a great tutorial on YouTube.  You can see that > here.   Plan to run some more test to get the video and audio just right.

Driveclub + Season Pass

A few times while at friends place would sometimes play the PlayStation 4 game Driveclub.  While I am not every good at the game.  It is still fun to play and nice to look at.  Said to myself if the full game with the DLC goes on sale.  Would buy if off the PlayStation store.  If you are a PlayStation Plus member.  You could buy the base game for $7.49 for the longest time.  The all so have the full game and season pass bundle going for $26.99.  That’s not a bad price.  Just didn’t want to pay that much for a game I might not every finish.  So decided to wait for a sale.

Well I was in luck.  This past weekend May 25th to 30th the PlayStation Store was running the Extended Play Sale.  One of the items on sale was the Driveclub Season Pass.  Which goes for $17.49 regular, sale price is $12.24.  However if you are a Plus member $10.49.  So I bought them.  Pretty good deal to get the main game and season pass for $18.00.

Canon EOS Rebel T5i

Over a week ago made a post talking about the Cannon EOS Rebel T5i.  In that post talked about how my brother and I are working on making a YouTube channel.  Which I would be using the camera I all ready had, Canon FS 10.  While the camera works great. Didn’t some test with the RODE VideoMicro.  It didn’t work out so great.  Back in that post said the camera I would like to buy is the Rebel T5i.  Well Best Buy had it on sale.  It was a package deal.  It came with the camera, a 18-55mm Lens,  a UV protection lens filter and tripod.  So went out a bought it.  Couldn’t past the deal up.  Had some gift cards.  Which helped lowered the price.  Now I have to figure out all it can do and practice.

Game of Thrones Season 7: Official Trailer

May is all most over.  So were are getting closer to season seven of Game of Thrones starting.  On May 24 HBO put out the first official trailer for the new season.  All the seasons are awesome.  Each one is better than the one before it.  This is the second last one.  Which will only have seven episodes.  From the trailer > here or below.  Looks like they are going to be packing a lot of big action scenes in.  Season starts July 16, 2017.

Far Cry 5 Trailer And News

Back on May 16th Ubisoft reviled that they are bring out sequels to their big game franchises. One of which is Far Cry 5.  The on May 22nd they put out four teaser videos.  All with the tag line Welcome to Hope Country Montana.  At the end of each there is some text saying, Tune in Friday, May 26th for worldwide reveal.  Well that was Yesterday.

A watching the trailer three times.  Which you can see > here or below.  Think this will be the best Far Cry game yet.  It seems like there are improving on the game play that makes them great.  While adding lots of new things.   A side from the announcement trailer.  They put out three “Meet …” videos.  Which show off the characters who will be helping you out.  You can see them by clicking their names, Mary May Fairgrave, Nick Rye and Pastor Jerome Jeffries.

There is some information out about the game as well.  It takes place in Hope County, Montana.  Where an evil cult called Eden’s Gate has taken over. Some of the things that standout for me (so far).   The story can be played in two player co-op. There will be more vehicles to drive.  Planes to fly.  Even have dogfights.  They are saying there is a map editor.  Not sure how that will work.  But sounds cool.  Pretty sure there will more more info out at this years E3.   The game is set to be out February 27, 2018.  Will be buying day one for sure.

Red Dead Redemption 2 News

Back in October (2016) Rockstar Games announced that Red Dead Redemption 2 would be coming out in fall 2017.  Well the the game has been delayed.  This all was happen with their games.  So it was no surprise they announced the delay on their blog, in this > post.   It is still disappointing.  Was really hopping it would be out this year.  We will have to wait now to Spring 2018. There is some good news to share.  They gave us new screen shots.  You can see them in the link above or see them below.

   

  

Fatboy Slim – Weapon Of Choice

Time once again for musical throwback Thursday.  The song this week is an old favorite.  Weapon of Choice by Fatboy Slim.   This is off his third album which was  released in 2000 called, Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars.  The song is pretty good.  What make is even more awesome is the music video.  It has Christopher Walken dancing around a hotel.  After all these years.  It holds up really well.  You can see/hear it for yourself > here or below.

RODE VideoMicro Test

Have made a few post all ready about the RODE VideoMicro.  Well got around to testing it out.  I don’t own an HD camera with a mic port (yet?).  So I hooked it up to my Canon FS 10.  Have owned this video camera since 2008.  Never used a microphone on it.  All so haven’t used the camera in years.  So had to look up how to set it up.

The first thing I did was film some gameplay while the camera was pointed at the TV.  Then plugged in the microphone.  The RODE VideoMicro doesn’t need a battery.  You just have to plug it into the 3.5 mm jack.  Played around with some setting to see if the camera would recognize.  Wasn’t sure if it worked.  So played the same game as before.  Put the files on the computer to if it worked.  Well didn’t have any luck.  The video with the mic plugged in didn’t have any sound at all.  So looked back at the manual for the camera.  From what I read.  I think it will only work with microphone that has it’s own power.  Will try one more time to be sure.

Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2 Review

Have not been to the theater to see a movie since last summer.  Now that the summer blockbusters have started.  Decided to go see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.  Did see the first movie.  Wasn’t the the biggest fan.  The story didn’t bring anything new to the table.  So was looking forward to see if the second one can be better.

Turns out this is one is way better than the first.  Had much more fun this time around.  It was all so a lot funnier.  Laughed out many times.  The story was better as well.  All the actors got to show more emotion.  There was great interaction and character growth.  Sure you can see plot twists coming.  Which is fine because the whole package was just pure fun.  There was some great surprise as well.  They upped the bar for the super hero movies.  There is a third movie in the works.  They have a big job ahead of themselves.  This is a much watch movie.

Mount & Blade

Back in June 2014 got a free game from GoG.com, Torchlight.  This sites sells mostly older digital PC games and some new ones for a good price.  They all so have movies that are game related in some way.  As I am typing this (May 20, 2017) they are giving another game way for free called Mount & Blade for a 48 hour period.  The game was first released back in 2008.  It is a medieval action role playing game.  Have head of it.  But didn’t know much about.  So being free had to give it a download.  While it was downloading looked up some videos.  It does look dated but still fun.
