Top Gear Series Sixteen Review

Series sixteen of Top Gear ended last night (Feb 27, 2011).  As all ways this series was awesome.  These guys keep out doing themselves.  Every episode put a smile on my face and laughed out loud more then once each show.  Have to say the music was really good this series.  They used some great stuff then they filmed the car tests.  Wish they would list the names of the songs they used.  There is only one thing I was disappointed with.  If you seen series promo, you seen Richard driving this big red tank like thing though a bunch of stuff.  They never aired it.  Many be in series seventeen.  Don’t have long to wait for that since that will start in June 2011.

If you have read my blog before taking about Top Gear you know what score I will give it.   Best show on TV.

GoPro

Was watching so AMA Supercross last night on Speed.  Saw this little camera on this guys helmet.  Seen them before just didn’t know what they were called.  To my surprise their was a commercial for it a few minutes later.  It is from a company called GoPro.  They have a line of wearable HD video cameras that are meant for action shots.  Like wearing on a helmet or put on to a car.  For the size it takes an awesome picture.  Was looking up more info.  They are reasonably priced.  One down side is there in no view screen so you can not see were it is pointing.  It is pretty slick.  One more thing I might pick up in the future.

The Naked And Famous – Young Blood

On the the new music kick again.  Found another great song called Young Blood by The Naked and Famous.  This song was used in a few tv shows.  But I never seen those shows.  Just found it on YouTube.  The video is ok however this song is much better with out it.

All-Star Superman Review

Got around to watching All-Star Superman today.  Didn’t know much about the story going in just that Superman was dying.  Have to say off all the DC Universe Animated Movies I have seen this has to be the best story of them all.  Lex was evil but not over the top cartoon-ish like in past movies.  Get too see all kinds of characters that I have not seen before.  There is not a lot of action/fight scenes.  The story is so strong it doesn’t need it.

 

This is another awesome DC animated movie.   You can’t go wrong checking this one out.

Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Trailer

Back in December they put out a teaser for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.  Which was cool.  Today day when I checking out the game websites there is a real trailer out.  Man it looks great.  The world looks alive.  The snow and water look all most real.  If the game really looks like that it will be the best Elder Scrolls ever.  I am pretty sure I will be buying this.  They say it will be out November 11, 2011.

Star Trek – Acid Drive

Not sure why I haven’t posted this earlier.  But is is a very cool and funny video.  They guy massed together Star Trek the Next Generation with a song called Acid for Nothing by 1200 Micrograms.  I like so I have to share it.

Salt Review

Not sure why I put off watching Salt.  But I am glad I watched it today.  This is a great action movie.  It move at a good pace.  Doesn’t get bog down in with back/side stories.  This movie is much better than I thought it was going to be.  Enjoyed it very much.  More spy thrillers should be made like this.  All the action scenes seemed some what possible.  There was no random explosions.  Even the car chase.  When the cars crashed they just crashed.  Which is ever refreshing.

You can’t go wrong checking this one out.  A great action, spy movie with some good twists along the way.  Some of the twists I seen a mile away.  That doesn’t mean you will not like.  This is a very strong rent.

Glidecam

Back in 2009 I made my own DIY Steadicam.  It works pretty good.  Still thinking about buying a real one.  They can be really expensive.  However ever came across ones that costs a lot but they have one starting at $400.00.  That is a lot of money but still better than a few thousand.  It is part of the Glidecam series.   The way I found about this was.  Some one posted a really well done video on FaceBook.  Decided to check out who made it, JLF Productions.  In one of there video descriptions they said they used a Glidecam.   These are the people that made the Darkest of Discos video for Slowcoaster.  The video below is where I first seen it in action.

The Town Review

Have been putting of watching The Town.   I knew it would be an interesting watch and it is.  But it seem like the type of move you would have to be in the mode to watch.  There is a lot of great stuff in this movie.  All the heist/crime stuff was awesome.  It seemed very real.  Some of the story and plot elements didn’t seem to fit or that could just be me.

This is a very good rental.  Give it high marks for bring new things to the table.  It is I just I can see myself watching it more than once.  If you are into crime/drama movies this is a very good choice.

All-Star Superman

The newest direct to video movie, All-Star Superman, from DC Universe Animated Movies will be out February 22, 2011.   Like past DC Universe movie it is based of the comic of the same name.  It does look really good.  I know I will be picking it up.  Check out the trailer.
