Rush – Tom Sawyer

Time again for musical throwback Thursday.  Have picked Tom Sawyer by Rush this week.  Rush is one of the most famous Canadian bands.  They have many great songs but this is my favourite.  It is off their 1981 album Moving Pictures.  You can see the official music video > here or below.

Red Dead Online Beta Update

There was a big update out for Red Dead Online on February 26, 2019.   It is not just gameplay balances.  They are adding all kinds of new stuff like weapons and cloths.  There will gameplay modes and challenges.  One that caught my eye is the competitive fishing.  If you choose to take part the game gives you all the gear you will need.  Just need to go to the right body of water.  To win you have to have the highest weight total in fish caught.  All so other players can’t shoot you.   Which is nice to have.  You can see all what will be add at the RockStar Games official post > here.

[Update] Tired out some of this.  The game does seem run better.  They added daily challenges.  There were seven to do.  Some of them seemed silly while others seemed to hard.  One was to eat five fresh produce.   While one had you shoot five players from a moving train.  Forget what the others were.  Did do the eat the fresh produce.  Which gave me 200XP and 0.01 gold.

Trails Rising Open Beta Hands On Video

Have a bonus video this week for the I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry YouTube channel.  Played Trails Rising Open Beta.  Am a fan of the Trails games.  They can be very fun but all so very frustrating.  There is a point where the tracks become too hard.  Am sure this version will have that as well.  If the game is cheap enough just might pick it put.  You can see my gameplay footage > here and below.

Trails Rising Open Beta Hands On

Tried out the open beta for Trails Rising.  Am a fan of theses games.  So having a new ones is cool.  Pre-loaded the game February 19, 2019.  Then the beta ran from February 21 to 24.  It plays much like that previous game.  This time around there is a lot more details in the world.  Was having fun with the game. When you level up you unlock a loot box.  Its not a big deal.  Until I seen you can spend real money to buy in game points to unlock more boxes.  I know many games do that.  Just seems out of place now since many big title games (even some Ubisoft) have gotten lots a flack for having them.  Over all did enjoy the beta.  Just might buy the full game.  Do have an upcoming video on the beta over at the I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry YouTube channel.  So watch out of that.

Unboxing A CultureFly PlayStation Mystery Box

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry.  I unbox a PlayStation themed mystery box made by CultureFly.  Found this back in December (2018).  Have seen many unboxing videos on YouTube.  So decided to get it a try for myself.  Was a bit disappointed in some of the items.  My favourite is the coaster set.  Each one is a deigned on the controller face buttons.  You can give the video a watch > here or below.

Wreckfest

Got to try out the racing game Wreckfest on PC a few days back.  This has have been in early access form for many years.  Then official released in June 2018.  The people making the game have a long history of making racing games with destruction a big part of them.  This one has a crazy amount of destruction.  Very impressive.  All so impressed with the handling of the few cars I got to try.  The game is said to be out on Xbox One and PS4 some time this year (2019).  Amazon.ca has it listed for March 31, 2019.  Will have to keep my eye on it.  Will have to get a copy.  Very fun game.

Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

IDW and DC teamed up to put together and have put together two comic series with The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Batman.  Have the two trade paperbacks.  Have read that they are now making a animated movie based off them.  Called Batman vs Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.  Batman and the Turtles are my favourite so will be getting a copy for sure.  There is know trailer yet or a release date.  Have read it will be out late spring.

INXS – Afterglow

Once again musical throwback Thursday.  This weeks pick is Afterglow by INXS.  Which is off their 2005 album Switch.  Do believe this was their first album out after their original sings death.  The song is soft rock, I guess.  All I know it sounds good.  You can give it a listen > here or below.

Doom Patrol Trailer

The stream service, DC Universe, has another show now.  It is Doom Patrol.  Sadly, the services in not in Canada.  However their first show Titans in on Netflix.  Did watch the first five episodes of that and like it very munch.  Have get back to watching the rest of the season.  In that show they showed us some of the characters in Doom Patrol.  It has had me interested in know more about them.   Back on February 14, 2019 they put out an extended trailer.  Which you can see > here or below.  I must say it looks like a very fun show.  I hope this comes to Netflix at some point.  The show is now up on DC Universe.

Trails Rising Open Beta

There is a new Trials game out soon.  It is called Trails Rising.  I do like the Trails game and own a copy of Trails Fusion.  The can be very fun in spots.  They are all so challenging but then you hit a wall and can’t go any farther.  That is when the gaming rage kicks in.  Do want to try this new one just to see if it any good.  If you are like me.  We are in luck.  Where will be an open beta.  Which runs from February 21 to 24, 2019.  Then the full game is out on the 26th.  If you don’t want to waste time during the beta downloading.  You can start pre-loading on the 19th.  Will be doing that.  Don’t think the file will be too big.  You can see the official post on this > here.
