Survivor: Philippines

We are getting close to the end of Survivor: Philippines.  It ends December 16, 2012.  So my guess there are two episodes plus the finale.  They are down to six people.  Would like for Denise or Malcolm to win.  The others  are ok as well.  With one exception, Abi-Maria.  Cannot stand her.  She treats other like dirt but doesn’t seem to think she is doing any thing wrong.  Any who it has been a good season.  Nothing really stands out from any other season.  May be one thing.    Which is that how know one has spilled the beans that Lisa is a former tv star.   Think it would be great if she made it all they way though with out every one finding out.

The Walking Dead Season Three

There is only on episode left in the first half of season three of The Walking Dead.  Episode eight airs this coming Sunday.  December 2, 2012.  From the quick preview I seen it looks like it will be awesome.  Then leaving us with a big cliff hander.   Making us wait months until we get the next eight episodes.  My guess it will start up again in February.  So for this season has been awesome.  Every episode is very powerful TV.  Will be back next week with a review of the first half the the season.  But you can all ready guess what I will be scoring it.

Cee Lo Green Feat. The Muppets – All I Need Is Love

Two things that go together are The Muppets and Christmas.  Well the Muppets are back in a new Christmas song from Cee Loc Green called All I Need is Love off the album Cee Lo’s Magic Moment.  Not ever often a new Christmas songs are good but this one is great.  Very catchy and sing along too.  Then there is the video > here and below which is awesome.  The Muppets are all ways fun to watch.  Think this will be stuck in my head for a few days.  Give it a listen.   Pretty sure it will be stuck in your head as well.

A Christmas Story 2 Review

Had to check out A Christmas Story 2.   While it will not be a classic or a must watch every year it is not as terrible as one might think.  Not great but not terrible.  There is some charm and laughs.  But no were close to the original.  One good thing about this movie is the story.   It surprised me a bit.  Thinking it would go down a path seen in many other family movies have beaten to death but it did not.  Of course it will have a feel good ending but it did it in a better way than movies in the genres.  Oh there is another bright spot the kid that plays Randy does a great job.  Has some of the best lines in the movie.

By all means don’t go out and buy this.  May be give it a rent or wait for it to come on tv.  Doesn’t hold a candle to the best movie ever, A Christmas Story.  But it is not completely terrible.

The Dark Knight Rises Blu-ray/DVD

Next Tuesday, December 4, 2021, is a very important day.  Why?, you might ask.  Well that is the day The Dark Knight Rises will be out on Blu-ray and DVD.  If you have read my blog from time to time you might know I am a big Batman fan.  Seen this movie twice in theatres.  Can not wait to see it again on Blu-ray.  This is an awesome movie.  If you have not seen it yet and are wait for it to come out on DVD.  Go pick it up, rent it or get it on demand.  You will not be disappointed.  Pretty sure I will be back to review this movie again but you can never have enough Batman in your life.

A Christmas Story 2

Caught a glimpse of a TV add that caught my eye.  It kind of looked like A Christmas Story but newer.  After looking it up.  Turns out they made a sequel to my all time favourite movie.   It is called A Christmas Story 2.  They are billing as the official sequel.  But after watching the trailer > here and below.  I am not sure what to make of it.  First off it looks cheap low budget cash grab.  This is one movie that should not have a remake or a sequel is A Christmas Story.   Will check this out but there is no way it will close to how awesome the first one is.

Inside HBO’s Game Of Thrones Book

Found another book I want to buy  it is called Inside HBO’s Game of Thrones.  It is a companion book to the first two season of the show.  It has all kinds of behind the scenes stuff.  With pictures, storyboards and the like.  Really love this show and still reading the books.  So this would be a nice one to add to the collection.  The Book description form Amazon.

Beyond The Mat

Came across the documentary Beyond the Mat on YouTube (here) so I had to watch it.  Have seen this once about 12 years ago.  Should tell you what this documentary is about if you don’t know.  It tells story about wresters outside the ring.  I came out back in 1999 but was filmed over three to five years before that.  So this was back when the WWE was still the WWF.  It was all same  time when they were really big with the attitude era.  After watching this again and seeing how much things have changed but all so stayed the same.   Back then is was kind of unheard of to see behind the scenes.  Was kind of ground breaking.  Do believe this documentary has made wresting better.  They don’t try to hide as much from the fans any more.  All so the fans get a better understanding what it is like to be a wrestler.  Pretty sure every wrestling fan has seen this but if not check it out while it is still up on YouTube.

The Expendables 2 Review

Going to start off saying I was very disappointed with the The Expendables 2.  Was hoping for a fun over the top action movie the way it was billed to be.  In an action movie the story is guaranteed to be some what silly.  But this one was really bad.  It was all over the place.  I chalk that to some pretty bad editing.  There are a lot of scenes that flow.  It felt like it was missing stuff.  It gets worst near the end.  Then there is the CGI.  It is really bad.  It looks so fake making it stick out like a sore thumb.  Have seen better CGI in online videos.

I say don’t waste your time and money watching this movie.  You might be saying, but there are all kinds of famous action movie actors all together in one film.  But that does not save it.  This a pass.
