The Suicide Squad – Official Red Band Trailer

When the 2016 Suicide Squad movie was out, was hyped to see it.  Like others ended up being very disappointed with it.  Flash forward to 2021 and there is a new movie coming The Suicide Squad.  Then I first heard about this and that James Gunn was behind it knew it would be better.  After watching the Red Band trailer.  Which you can do > here or below. (You will need to be singed in with your Google account, may be?).   Now think this will be even better than I first thought.  We will find out soon.  It set to be out August 6, 2021.

XIII Is Free On GoG

Have some good news to share.  But you need to act fast.  GoG.com is giving way copies of XIII.  This a classic FPS.  The art style makes is standout.  As the look and feel of a comic book.  Played a bit of the PS2 version.  From I tied it was a fun.  As for the act fast part.  You have until April 1, 2021 to log in and get it.  As soon I see this pop up in an email newsletter, log in right way.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.20

The big 1.20 update for Cyberpunk 2077 is out today (March 29, 2021).  Do believe this is the one the were planning to have out in February.  This morning read that they were putting out a patch soon and give a list of every fix and change.  Which you can see > here.  Was thinking that many be in the next day or two this patch would be out.  Well I was wrong a few hours later the put it out for PC and consoles.  As I am typing this the file is downloading to my PS4, with a size  of 44.088 GB.  Plan to give it a try last tonight to see if the game runs any better.  On a side note I hope they didn’t fix the money making exploit.  Will try that out too.

Photogrammetry And Video Games

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry, taking about Photogrammetry.  Wanted to see if Photogrammetry would work with video games. A lot of game now a days of photo modes, so it makes it easier to get pictures or video. My goal is to turn the ship I use in No Man’s Sky into a 3D Model. Then 3D print it. Gave it a try with a few programs. Did end up with some good result.  Which you can see in the video > here or below.

Reality Capture Hands On

A few posts back talked about the photogrammetry program, Reality Capture.  I gave it a try.  My goal with is to take video game things and turn it into 3D printable item.  Have had a bit of success with other programs.  But they are limited to how many pictures/video you can use.  This one however is the full program.  The drawn back is when you want to export you need to pay with what they called PPI (Pay-Per-Input) Credits.  The bigger the project the more credits you will need.

My goal is to turn one of my ships I use in No Man’s Sky into a 3D model. This program lets you import video.  So re-edited so footage I had.  I must say the results turned out the best yet.  As you can see in the picture below. There are only a few small holes in the wings.  So decided to see how many credits it would cost to export, about 117.  You can buy 3500 for about $13.00 Canadian.  The new plan to is get better at this software and make a bunch of models.  Then buy the credits.  Will be back with more updates in the future.

Halloween (2018) Movie Review

Have been a bit of a Netflix watching spree.  Checking things off my list.  One is the 2018 movie Halloween.  Only every seen bits of the original as well as many of the sequels.  When I seen the trailer for this before it was out.  Thought it looked interesting.  What makes this one standout it is a direct sequel to the first movie from 1978.  Making it take place forty years later.   Kind of forgot about it until it showed up on Netflix in December (2020).

After watching this, it by the numbers slasher flick.  The story interduces characters only to have them be killed.  Will minus the main star/stars.  It was very predictable.  Not scary or make you jump at any point.  However it was very well made and the acting was well done.  If you are into these types of movies it must be one of the best.  Just kind of boring over all.

Need New Motorcycle Helmet

Spring is official here but just waiting for the weather to caught up.  So that means it will be time soo to get the motorcycle out.  With that I need to get myself a new helmet.  They say you should get one every five years.  Well the one I have now a Bell Arrow Eddie is a bit older than that.  So may plan is to get one early April.  Just got to find out if the motorcycle shops will allow me to try some one.  Will be back with an update at some point.

Reality Capture

Talking about photogrammetry once more.  Have tired a few different programs over the last two years.  Have found another one I am going to try, Reality Capture.  What makes this one standout.  The full program is free.  However to export you need to buy PPI (Pay-Per-Input) Credits.  This price will change on how big the project is.  Well that I how understand how it works.   Did watch some how-to video on the software.  Will be back with an update.

More Play At Home

Sony is giving away more free PlayStation 4 games starting soon.  With their Play At Home campaign.  In early March they had Ratchet & Clank for free.  (I think you can still get it as I am typing this March 19, 2021.)  You don’t need to be a PlayStation Plus member to get this or the others.  Starting March 25 they are giving out five famous indie games and four VR ones.   As for the indies, the one I want to try the most is Subnautica.  But wait there is more big news.  On April 19 to May 14, 2021.  They are giving us Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition.   You can read more about by clicking the link above.
