Faithless_God_Is_A_DJOnce again musical throwback Thursday. There are so many classic 90’s songs that I have forget about.  So when it’s time to write ones of these post it is fun to rediscovering all kinds of awesome ones.  The pick this week is God Is a DJ by Faithless.  This one stands out because the way it is more of a spoken word song with a house sound behind it.  The song is off their second album released in 1998 called Sunday 8PM.  You can see/hear the official music video > here or below.

Scooter – The Logical Song

Posted in Just something to say, Videos with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on January 4, 2018 by getbent57

Scooter_The_Logical_SongIt is the first musical throwback Thursday of the year.  Thought I should pick a cheesy silly one.  It is The Logical Song.  Not the famous Supertramp version.  Talking about the Scooter version.  First heard this back in the early 2000’s.  This is an interesting take on this song.  This techno band is pretty famous for mixing in old songs into theirs.  They are all pretty much the same.  It has the MC saying/singing random words.  Followed by a mixed version of the old song.  Next part is a techno sounds.  The song was first released as a single in 2001.  Then on their 2002 album, Push the Beat for This Jam (The Singles 98-02). You can give it a watch/listen > here or below.

Queen_Hammer_To_FallIt is the last musical throwback Thursday of the year.  Took me awhile to decide which one to pick.  So got thinking, why not pick a song from my all favourite band Queen.  The song is Hammer To Fall.  Which is off their 1984 album, The Works.  Not much to say about this song other than is just pure awesome.  Give it a watch/listen > here or below.

One more Christmas themed musical throwback Thursday.  The song this week is Past Three O’clock by Roger Whittaker.  I know I have shared this one before.  It is still on of my very favorites.  It is off his 1984 album Tidings of Comfort and Joy.  You can give it a listen > here or below.

The_Pretenders_2000_MilesThere are one more Thursday (after this one) to go before Christmas.  So its fitting that this weeks musical throwback Thursday is a Christmas themed.  The song is 2000 Miles by The Pretenders. This is off their third album called Learning to Crawl.  Which was released in 1984.  This song released in 1983 before Christmas that year.  I hear this every day at work now.  It is one of better ones.  Give it a listen > here or below.

Fatboy Slim – Praise You

Posted in Just something to say, Videos with tags , , , , , , , , , , on December 7, 2017 by getbent57

Fatboy_Slim_Praise_YouIt’s musical throwback Thursday once again.  While watching some TV an ad came on for some jewelry.  The song in the back ground sounded very familiar.  Then it hit me, was Praise You.   It was a contemporary version of the song original done by Fatboy Slim.   This is off this second album You’re Come a Long Way, Baby, released in 1998.  The official music video is something very special.  Which you can see > here or below.  It is very low rent.  Which makes its awesome.  It has a group of very crappy dancers in front of a movie theatre dancing to this song.  While people in line to buy tickets look on. Having no clue what is going on.
