A Christmas Story Christmas Review

It has been a long time since I done a movie review but I just have to after watching A Christmas Story Christmas.   Am a big fan of A Christmas Story.   It fact it is my all time favourite movie.  When I heard the were making this sequel back in 2022 couldn’t wait to see it.  Sadly at the time it was on on HBO Max.  About a week ago found a DVD copy at Walmart in the Christmas movie bin.  Didn’t even think about not buying it.

Enjoy this movie a lot.  Has the charm, comedy and heart that made the original so good.  Think just about all the main kids are back in this movie.  Which makes it more special.  Liked how they made references and re-created scenes from the first movie.  While still putting a twist on them.  Thinking going forward will be adding this movie to my annual must watch list every year.

A Christmas Story Christmas – DVD

Was very happy a few days ago.  While in Walmart walked by the bin of cheap DVD’s and seen a copy A Christmas Story Christmas on top.  The original is my all time favourite movie.  Have wanted to see this one since it came out last November (2022).  At first it was only on HBO.  A few weeks back took a look an Amazon.ca to see if there was a Blu-ray version out.  But only seen a DVD copy going for way too much.  Super happy now to have this in my collection.

A Christmas Story Christmas Trailer

A few weeks back they put out a teaser video for A Christmas Story Christmas movie.  Knew it wouldn’t be too long before we got a full trailer.  The put that out on November 1, 2022.  You can see it > here or below.  I must say it does look funny, even with all the slap-stick stuff.  It is set to be on HBO Max November 17, 20022.  Going to keep an eye out to see if it will be on Blu-ray.

A Christmas Story Christmas – Teaser

Have known for some time now they were make another sequel to A Christmas Story,  Which happens to be my all time favourite movie.  Back in January (2022) we learned what it will called A Christmas Story Christmas.   Have some good news to share. They put out a teaser video, which you can see > here below.  At the end they give a date, November 17, 20022.   The sad part is it will only be on HBO Max.  Going to keep an eye out to see if it will be on Blu-ray.

A Christmas Story Christmas

It might be a bit last or really early depending on how you look at it.  My all time favourite movie, A Christmas Story, is getting a real sequel.  There have been other sequels and spin offs.  Like a Summer Story, A Christmas Story Live and A Christmas Story 2.  What is interesting about his new one called, A Christmas Story Christmas, is that the main actor who played Ralphie (Peter Billingsley) is coming back.  According to IMDB the plot is, “Follows Ralphie, now adult, who returns to the house on Cleveland street to give his kids a magical Christmas like the one he had as a child, reconnecting with childhood friends, and reconciling the passing of his Old Man.”  Will be keeping my eye on this.  It could be really great.

A Christmas Story 2 Review

Had to check out A Christmas Story 2.   While it will not be a classic or a must watch every year it is not as terrible as one might think.  Not great but not terrible.  There is some charm and laughs.  But no were close to the original.  One good thing about this movie is the story.   It surprised me a bit.  Thinking it would go down a path seen in many other family movies have beaten to death but it did not.  Of course it will have a feel good ending but it did it in a better way than movies in the genres.  Oh there is another bright spot the kid that plays Randy does a great job.  Has some of the best lines in the movie.

By all means don’t go out and buy this.  May be give it a rent or wait for it to come on tv.  Doesn’t hold a candle to the best movie ever, A Christmas Story.  But it is not completely terrible.

A Christmas Story 2

Caught a glimpse of a TV add that caught my eye.  It kind of looked like A Christmas Story but newer.  After looking it up.  Turns out they made a sequel to my all time favourite movie.   It is called A Christmas Story 2.  They are billing as the official sequel.  But after watching the trailer > here and below.  I am not sure what to make of it.  First off it looks cheap low budget cash grab.  This is one movie that should not have a remake or a sequel is A Christmas Story.   Will check this out but there is no way it will close to how awesome the first one is.
