Winterized My Motorcycle

Have been winterize my Motorcycle a, (Yamaha XT225) for many years in October.  Know different this time.  Just the weather was supper nice, around 23c.  Have never seen it that nice so late in the month (October 26, 2022).  Have a system now so it doesn’t take long at all.  Do need to look into ordering a new air filter.  Has bee a few years since I got a new one.

Motorcycle Soon

Am hoping to get my motorcycle out soon.  First I need to get my plate sticker.  Plan to get that next week.  All so need to get it inspected this year as well.  However the weather is the biggest thing.  While it is official Spring now but not really.  I call it fake Spring.  Some days it looks nice though a window, until you go out side.  Then there are days that are nice enough but end up at work or doing something else.  Am hoping by the end of the month it will worth going for a ride.

Winterized My Motorcycle

We have been getting lots of great weather this October (2021).  But sadly it is time to winterize my Motorcycle a, (Yamaha XT225).  Can remember in some past years would wait to long to do this.  Then it would be very cold on the hands.  This time it was about 8c out so not bad at all.  Have done this so many time it didn’t take long.  Maybe about an hour.  One thing I do need to do, over the winter order myself a new air filter.  Didn’t take a look at the old one yet but just know it will be really dirty.

Motorcycle Soon

Am hoping to get my motorcycle out soon.  We did have a few nice days in a row in late March.  But that is what we call fake Spring.  But now we are into April so thinking we might not  (for the most part) get one more big snow storm.  Made a post all ready about needing a new helmet.  Plan to get one soon-ish.  As well I need to get this years plate sticker.  The I will be good to go.  Last year got two new tires.  That took weeks to sort out.  So lost a lot of riding time.  Hoping to get more in this year.

Winterized My Motorcycle

It’s a the last week of October (2020) and the weather is starting to get a lot cooler.  So it was time to winterize my motorcycle, a Yamaha XT225. Done this so many times now it doesn’t take long.  Have a great system.  Now to sit and wait to the good weather to come back.  Most likely spend time looking at the new models.  Took a quick look at the dealer while I was pick up the oil.

Motorcycle Riding Soon

For the past few years in early May have been able to get out on my 2006 Yamaha XT 225.  It’s not looking so good this year.  The temperature has only gone above 10c a few times.  There has all so been lots of rain.  Would like to get it out soon because I need two tires.  As the weather gets better the motorcycle shop gets super busy.  All so with all this virus stuff going on you can’t just show up at the shop.  May be next week will be better.

Motorcycle Withdrawal

It has been along winter.  While it is official Spring now.  However Winter is still not done let.  My motorcycle withdrawal has kicked in hard.  With all that is going on and many places shut down.  Don’t think I will be able to ride even if the weather gets better.  Need to get myself a new helmet.  All so need a new back tire.  Was thinking I would get a new helmet now and then save for the new tier.  Time will tell how things play out.

Winterized My Motorcycle

Sadly it’s that time of year again.  Time to winterizing my Yamaha XT225.  The weather was some what nice.  So had to jump at it.  Since it weather will be turning very cold soon.  Have done this so many times now it doesn’t take long.  Will not take long of the itch to get riding to kick in again.  Will be spending the winter looking at all the new  motorcycles.

Motorcycle Riding Soon

The weather is past April (2019) has been pretty bad.  Only had a few really nice days.  Now that it is May hoping to get my 2006 Yamaha XT 225 out and ready for the season.  Has been about seven months since I was last out for a ride.  I miss it.  I would ride all winter if I could.  But freezing to death or crashing on ice doesn’t sound fun.  Have had the motorcycle for 13 years now.  It is showing lots of wear now in spots.  Still works great thou.  Can’t see myself ever getting rid of it.  At some point would like to get a new one.  Just not in the cards at this time.

Winterized My Motorcycle

It is all ways a sad day when I winterize my Yamaha XT225.  There weather today (October 29, 2018) was crazy warm, 18 °C.   Two day before it was only 3 °C.  This made it the prefect day to this.  It was some much easier to change the oil with having your fingers freezing off.  It will be a long six months or so before I can ride again.  In the spring will have to take it to the shop.  What them to check over all the cables and breaks.  It will 13 years old by then.  Want to make sure it is still in safe working order.
