This is the third time I have ran into the problem, “the user profile service – service failed the logon. User profile cannot be logon”. The second time with my computer and once for my mothers. When I first ran into to this problem found a site that shows you how to fix it ( > here if you are looking) thought it looked way to complicated. Going into the Registry can look scary. When this problem happened again to day it was a very quick and easy fix. Still not sure why this happens but its a pain. I can see if some one who doesn’t know much about computers this could scary them.

Posted in Just something to say with tags Error 1606, Lord Of The Rings Online, Registry, Vista, Vista Registry, Windows Registry, Windows Registry edit, Windows Registry Problem, Windows Support on July 22, 2011 by getbent57 Have successfully edited the Windows registry on my Vista OS computer. Have run into a problem that was giving me the, “Error 1606” having to do %\AppData\% in the registry. Ran into to this problem a few times when trying to install a new programs. I knew it happened when I tried to install iTunes. Found a different way to fix that. What to try Lord of The Rings Online now that it was free. Ran into the problem again. Really wanted to try the game since it took hours to download, about 10GB’s. Found the help fixing it on a Microsoft Support Page > here. Tried the Microsoft Fix it. That didn’t work. Never edited the registry before, have looked at it and said I don’t thinks so. Was as bad has I thought it was going to be. Just followed the steps and every thing worked out. Got the game installed, ready to go. Will talk about the game in a different post since I have not played it yet.
Windows Vista
Posted in Just something to say with tags Home Premium, Vista, Windows, Windows Vista, windows vista Home Premium on January 11, 2009 by getbent57 I have been using Window Vista the Home Premium version for about a year now. I know there is a lot of dislike about it out there. Not sure why, I have not had any problems with it. I had it only crash on me once. I moved to Vista from Windows 98 SE. It may look a lot different, but works pretty much the same. It is still windows after all. I can remember when XP came out there was some back lash too because people loved 2000 and didn’t want to change. Very thing I wanted to do on my computer I have had no problem. I biggest problem, if you can call it a problem was trying to get my old scanner to work. A quick Google search fixed that. Over all I like Vista.
