Assassin’s Creed: Unity DLC

If you own a copy of Assassin’s Creed: Unity you will be able to download the free DLC on January 13, 2015.  Which is called Dead Kings.  They are give everyone the DLC for free because how messed up the game launch was.  The DLC will take part after the end of the main game.  You will be in a new city called Saint Denis.  You will spend most of the time in the catacombs under the city.  There will be all new weapons, items and missions to go on.  You can read all the info on it > here.  Check out the trailer > here or below.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity Patch Four

There is another big patch coming to Assassin’s Creed: Unity.  With patch four it will, “patch will address issues with stability and performance as well as online matchmaking and connectivity (among other fixes and improvements).”  It will be out on all platforms on December 15, 2014.  Not sure how big the download will be but sure it will be a few GB’s.  Think they will have the, now free, DLC called The Dead Kings soon after this.  Do believe that DLC was part of the third patch which made for a big  download.  All they have to so is unlock it.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity Review

Finished the main storyline for Assassin’s Creed: Unity back on December 5, 2014.   There is still lots to do because I still haven’t finished all the side missions.  Over all I was a bit let down by the game.  Think this is part because Black Flag was the prefect Assassin’s Creed game.  While Unity is beautiful too look at and run around the world.  The did add some new elements to to the game but they took a lot more out there in all the games before it.  In all the other games you can interact will pretty much all the NPC’s but in Unity you all interact with the bad guys.  The cover systems is a nice idea when it works.  Stealth is not the good either.  All the mission seemed to play out in the end as a swordfight.  The combat is different then the other.  Which is fine but doesn’t matter how good your gear is or weapons if you still loose pretty quickly.

It may be the best looking Assassin’s Creed but it is far from the best.  The game shipped broken.  While I didn’t have too may problems like others had.  I think no game should be put out like this then “fix” it later.  Must admit I didn’t have a little bit of fun playing.  Over all it was a let down.  Would recommend playing any of the old games before playing this one.  They were a lot more fun.  If you are thinking about buying this game for yourself or as a gift.  Wait till it goes cheep and buy Shadow of Mordor instead.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity Patch Three

There is a big new patch out now (November 26, 2014) for Assassin’s Creed: Unity.  This will be patch number three since the game came out on November 11.  This one will have over three hundred “fixes”.  Myself only have had a few miner problems.  The biggest let down was I still have been able to play co-op with my brother.  It would let me play with random people but that’s no fun.  Am hoping this new patch will fix that.  Will be back with an update if so or not.  You can read the list of all the fixes > here.

[Update]  Have download the patch which is about 2.26GB.  It seems to make the game run much better.  Still haven’t try co-op but will soon.  How ever is even more news to stare.  Ubisoft will be giving the first DLC called The Dead Kings to everyone who buy Unity for free.  If you have the season pass they will be giving away a free game.  You can read all about this subject > here.  Think this is a nice jester.  But all so think they shouldn’t have shipped a broken game.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity Companion App

Like most new big games there are companion app’s for them.  Assassin’s Creed: Unity is no different.  You can read about it > here.  To unlock some chests in the game you have to play a mini game with in the app.  Wanted to at lest see if it worked and was any fun.  Tried to get it on my iPod touch.  Didn’t work because I have a 4th gen and you have a 5th gen or higher.  So decided to get it trying and get if off the Google Play Store using my Kobo Vox.  My Vox is about two years old and very old in tech terms.  It did download and install.  The first load screen came up.

Waited to see it if will work.  It did load up but runs very slow.  Log into my UPlay account and message come up on my TV saying companion app has be connected.  So that was pretty cool.  While it did load up it was very slow and couldn’t do much.  Am thinking of getting myself a real tablet after Christmas when that stuff goes on sale.  Then I will try this app out again.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity

Picked up a copy of Assassin’s Creed: Unity on November 12, 2014.  My impressions so far.  The game looks beautiful.  The level of detail is unreal.  You can see drit on the widows.  The paint on the wheels and doors of the horse driven wagons is chipped and worn.  You can go into builds with out any loading.  The detail inside is just as amazing.  I have been to the Fortress of Louisbourg may times.  The builds look like they could be there.  There is so much to do and look at. There are so many layers to the game.  It is fun to explore.  The combat is much different this time around.  So is the movement.  Which will take getting used to.

Have read that some people are having technical problems with the game.  For the game this big there bound to be some bugs.  I have the frame rate glitch during one cutscene.  All so fail though the bottom of the game into nothingness.  Was moving down a building pretty fast then just falling into emptiness.  So far am having a blast playing this game.  Looking forward to trying out the co-op.

[Update] Tried to give co-op a try but didn’t work.  Will be trying again this week.  Have read it should be fixed.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity

Getting so close to Assassin’s Creed: Unity to being out.  November 11, 2014 is the day.  How ever that is Remembrance Day so pretty much all stores are closed.  Don’t mind waiting an extra day.  So looking forward to playing this game.  By the looks of it, it will be the best one yet.  Black Fag was/is awesome and my favourite of the series so far.  Think Unity will top it though Ubisoft have put out a interesting trailer called  101 Trailer.  It shows off all the new things the game has.  Which you can check out > here or below.  Like the look of the new cover system.  All so like there will be more customization and RPG elements.  Then there is the co-op which looks super fun as well.  Will be make with updates when I get the game.

Assassin’s Kittens Unity

This past weekend there was a video getting shared all over the place that I have to share as well.  There is one think that can make Assassin’s Creed better is kittens.  Well the world can ended tomorrow because the people over at the Mr. TV Cow YouTube Channel have done it.  The video has kittens taking on the roll as the assassin’s.  This is spoof on the new co-op mode in Assassin’s Creed: Unity.  They didn’t a great job making this video.  check it out > here or below.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity Co-Op Gameplay Trailer

While we  are still weeks way from Assassin’s Creed: Unity coming out.  Which is November 11, 2014.  So in the mean time they are building the hype.  The put out a new gameplay trailer showing off more of the co-op.  Have to say every thing they how shown about co-op looks very cool.  If it works like they are showing us it will be fun to plan.  Of course time will tell.  Will be buying this game day one.  Should say day two.  Since 11th is Remembrance Day.  Check out the trailer > here or below.

Assassin’s Creed: Unity Delayed

There are many up coming games I am looking at getting.  The first and for most is Assassin’s Creed: Unity.  Back on August 28, 2014 the news came out the game will be delayed to November 11, 2014.  It is only two weeks extra.  Still looking forward to playing this game.  Will just push back the dates on other games I want to get.  You can read what Ubisoft has to say about the delay over at their blog > here.
