The Elder Scrolls Online

Have been playing the The Elder Scrolls Online for about four weeks now.  This is the longest I have ever stuck with an MMO.  Over all am very much liking the game.  It has the feel of Skyrim in ways but it’s own thing at the same time.  All so like how all the quest/missions are voice acted.  With that being said the quest while good can be pretty much all the same.  Mostly have been playing the story missions for each zone.  They all seem to have the same structure.  Get three to six items by killing the enemies.  Then bring those items to someone/place.  Going to try some other things to break the cycle up.  That is a great thing about this MMO.  There is lots of other stuff to do.  Think I will give more the the crafting a try.

The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Blackwood

Am talking about the The Elder Scrolls Online once again.  Am having fun playing this game.  Seen on the PlayStation Store has the base game is on sale for Black Friday.  All so seen that the adds and collections are as well.  For about $27.00 (Canadian) you can get The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Blackwood.  This includes the base game as well as five chapters.  Couldn’t pass that deal up.  These will add hundreds of more hours of gameplay.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Update

A few posts back talked about jumping back into The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.  Bought it years ago but had to stop playing it because it gave me headaches.  Have started over with a new character and played a bunch of quest and a little exploring.  Didn’t have any trouble.  All so the game seems to be running smoother than I remember.   Having fun playing.  May be this will be come my MMO I stick with.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Jumping Back In.

It was back in 2018 I bought a digital copy of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited for the PS4.  Only made it to level five before having to stop playing.  That is because some games give me bad headaches.  Most times it from the camera movement.  Well decided to give this game another try the other day.  There was pretty big update out this past summer (2021).  I haven’t update my copy since 2018.  At that time it tool over a 100GB.  When it updated it pretty much deleted that and re-download it from scratch.  It now sits at about 85GB.  As I am typing this (November 16, 2021) started over with a new character.  Then made it though the tutorial with out any trouble.  So, going to play some more.  May be I will finely get to enjoy this game.

Video Games And Headaches

Recently got a digital copy of The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.  Played it a few times and each time would get a headache.  I do get a lot of headaches at random times so didn’t think much about it.  Decided not play it for a few days and try again to see for sure it was the game.  Then got thinking about other games over the years that caused them.  One I know for sure is the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition.  The camera movement was the problem for me in that game.  It would sway when the character ran.  It was the same thing in Gears of War.  Then here was a game on the Dreamcast where the light patterns hurt my heard.  Think this is the same thing happening in Tamriel Unlimited.  Have played many hours in Skyrim with no trouble. Tamriel Unlimited has pretty much the same movement but there are a lot more stuff going on screen.  It would kind of suck if I couldn’t play the game.  On the plus side didn’t pay too much for it.  If I did have it on disc would just give it to a friend.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited

The PlayStation Store (is or was depending when this gets posted) running a mid year sale.  One of the game was The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.  This is an MMO set in the Elders Scrolls world.  When the game was first out, like a lot in this type, had an subscription fee.  Then in 2015 they re-branded the game as Tamriel Unlimited dropping the fees.  All so that year it was released on the PS4 and Xbox One.  Since then have been watching for the game to drop in price.  Have wanted to try but I knew it would be much different then play Skyrim.

Well the sale had a good price on it, $13.50.  So bought a digital copy.   I knew the file size would be huge.  Glad I have and external hard drive. When everything was done downloading and installed it takes up 103 GBs.  Have played about three hours so far.  There is a lot going on.  It kind of feels a bit like Skyrim with all kinds of extra layers and layers of stuff on top.  Think it will take me many more hours to figure everything out.

The Elder Scrolls Online Free Play Weekend

Ever since I heard about The Elder Scrolls Online back in 2012.  Thought about buying.  But at first there was a monthly fee plus you had to buy the game.  Then in January 2015 they rebranded the game as The Elder Scrolls Online Tamriel Unlimited.   There was no longer a monthly fee.  Which was great news.  However still didn’t buy the game because wasn’t to sure it  I would like it enough to pay full price.

Well if you are like me.  We are in luck because they are have a free play weekend.  It started Wednesday (November 16) and ends on the 20th.  You get the full game to try.  Minus the DLC.   However it’s a big download, 73GB.  The good thing is if you decided to buy the game you get to keep the character/s you created and anything you bought.   You can read all about it > here.

[Update] Decided not to download it.  The file size is way to big.  Plus I would have to deleted a bunch of stuff I don’t want to get rid of yet.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited Trailer

If you haven’t heard The Elder Scrolls Online is being rebrand/relaunched.  It will now be called The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.  This is because they are getting rid of subscription fees on PC.  Which will be out on March 17, 2015.  All so because the game is coming to PS4 and Xbox One on June 9, 2015.  There is a new trailer out which you can see > here or below.  The game does look pretty cool.  Will be buying it.  Just not at launch.  That is because Batman: Arkham Knight will be out the week before.  The other is reason is because every time a new game comes out that is online or needs some what to be online never seem to work.  So will be waiting until all the bugs and problems will be worked out.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited

First heard about The Elder Scrolls Online back in 2012.  I am a big fan of Skyrim so the idea of playing an online version of that kind of game sounded pretty sweet.  The game was out on PC back in April of 2014.  It was humoured to be coming to the PS4 and Xbox One.  The humoured turned out to be true.  It will be out on June 9, 2015.  It is coming with a new name as well, The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited.   This is because there will be no subscription fees.  When it first came out on PC it had month fees.  Now the PC version will have no subscription as well.  How ever you can still pay extra money for their optional membership package.  Am very interested to see how the game will look and play on a PS4.  In the next few months and sure they will be all kinds of video out.

The Elder Scrolls Online Teaser Trailer

So the rumours are true.  There is going to an Elder Scrolls Online game.  The tease trailer (below) was put out today (May 4, 2012).  Much like then Skyrim was first announced, the teaser trailer doesn’t show very much.  From the GameSpot.com article.  The massively multiplayer open world RPG will take place 1,000 years before the story in Skyrim takes place.  They say the game will be out in 2013.  Have tired a few MMO’s over the years.  Could never stick with any of them.  How ever if this one plays like Skryim, I would be all over it.  As long as my computer could run it.  Another think is with this games there are all ways a monthly fee.  Not a fan of that.  Will wait and see that kind of info the put out over the next few months.  E3 is coming up in June may be will we see something here.
