Lethal Enforcers Game Comparisons

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry, have a game comparison for Lethal Enforcers. Have been trying out the Magnus RC build for the PlayStation Classic. This lets you play Arcade games as well as others. Gave an old favourite a try, Lethal Enforcers. Back in the day would rent the SEGA Genesis a lot. Lethal Enforcers

Made a few posts talking about Lethal Enforcers 2: Gun Fighters on the SEGA Genesis.  We had lot of fun with this light gun game.  One day while looking at games to rent we seen Lethal Enforcers.  We rented it on the spot.  With part two we just used the Genesis controllers.  At the rental store the first game come with the a big blue light gun called The Justifier.  Remember being super excited to get home and use it.  We took turns playing though both games.

Flash forward to day.  Through emulation got to replay both of theses.  While the first game doesn’t hold up well. However think there is some fun to be had even if you are using a controller.  While looking up info on this game seen that there was a PlayStation version.  So gave that a go.  It is not a great port because there are some stupid long load times.  Then a few days back got to give the Arcade version of the game a try.  Again with a controller but this is the best one to play.  It runs better and there is a lot more detail.  An since it emulation I have unlimited quarters.  Think I will make a video on comparing the version of the games.  They only version I haven’t tired is the SEGA CD.

Lethal Enforcers II: Gun Fighters

It was back in 2015 when I first blogged about Lethal Enforcers 2: Gun Fighters.  Played it at a friends house on a SEGA Genesis.  My brother and I had a copy when we were kids.  We would play thought it start to finish just about weekly.  Well a few nights go played it again this time though emulation on a PC in two player.  The game is very dated but still lots of fun.  While looking at the Wikipedia page (linked above) read that there was a PlayStation compilation of the two games.  Never knew that.  Going to see if I can get my hands on a copy just to see if its better or worst then the Genesis version.

Outlander Video Game

Back in the day my brother loved to play the Sega Genesis version of the game Outlander.  When playing it we wouldn’t get every far.  It was a tough game.  All so we didn’t understand what was going on.  Well all these years later.  Thanks to emulation and save states.  Also years of gaming.  It still tough but makes senses.

If you never seen it before.  It looks like that Mad Max movie.  After looking up info on the game.  Found out was being developed as a Mad Max game. But they lost the license.  So they changed the name.  What makes this game standout.  Is there are two different game play styles.  First you are driving.  Avoiding things and shooting at the bad guys.  Then at points in the game you have to pull over.  Then the game switches to on foot.  Where you beat up/shoot the bad guys to get supplies.  However at any time you can pull over.  It is you just might not get enough supplies. It is any interesting game.  Just every repetitive.

NBA Jam

A few nights ago a bunch of us had a game night.  We decided to play some old games.  One of them was NBA Jam for the Sega Genesis.  This version of the was released back in 1994.  Back in the day my brother and I would rent this one all the time.  We played it so much we had our in initial in every slot in the high score screen.  Have not played the game since there (until that game night).  Have to day the game holds up well.  Still very fun to play.  Think we will have to get mini tournament on the go.

Road Rash Video Games

Have been trying out a bunch of different game with RetroPie running on a  Raspberry Pi 3 kit.  Was trying to think of old Sega Genesis game my brother and I used to rent back in the day.  Then it hit me, Road Rash.   The one I remember most is Road Rash 3: Tour De Force.  Decided to play the first two before playing this one.  They all pretty much the same at the core.  You race a motorcycles dodging obstacles and other racers.  While trying to knock them off their motorcycles.  The first game was out in 1991 then in 92 the second one was out.  You can see a big jump in the graphics.  In 1995 the third game was out.  This third one is much more fun than the other two.  The motorcycles control better.  Another good feature it has, you can keep you weapons between races.

Lethal Enforcers II: Gun Fighters

A few nights ago go got to play an old Sega Genesis game, which my brother and I had but ended up selling.  It was 1994’s  Lethal Enforcers 2: Gun Fighters.  This is an port of the arcade game.  Back in the day they would be full of light gun games.  All ways like those type of games.  So being able to play on at home was cool.  Even if we didn’t have a light gun.  The game let you play two player with controllers.  The graphics don’t hold up that well but are very interesting at the same time.  Of the most part the background are real pictures with animated parts on top.  The bad guys you shoot are sprites. With about four frames of animation.   Still think it is a fun game to pick up an play every now again.  If you never seen it in action or want to see it again there are lots of video out there.  You can see on of those > here or below.

Sega Genesis

Have got the retro game bug.  Dug out my old Sega Genesis.  Have not played this in a very long time, think some time back in late 90’s.  How ever did/do play some of the games on my Sega Genesis Nomad.  Once I found it and the power cord for it.  Cleaned the dust off, then hook it up to my TV it worked great.  First tried Comix Zone.  This is one of my favourite games.  Even thou it is difficult.  I just put in the invincibility cheat.  That is what is great about these old games most of then had cheat codes.  At first the game didn’t work so I tired Vectorman 2.  Remember liking this game, then remembered why I stopped playing it.  It was because I couldn’t get past the second level.  Keep getting lost.  Have know idea were to go.  Put Comix Zone back in once it the dust was nocked out of it.  It worked great.  Mind you it doesn’t look the best because these games were not designed for HDTV’s.  Next I tried Batman Returns.  Forgot how bad this game is.  It is very difficult.   Have a few more games to try.  List below.
