Posted in I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 28, 2020 by getbent57

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry.  Wanted to see if four player Arcade games would run on the PlayStation Classic.  Have been trying out the Magnus RC build for the PlayStation Classic. This lets you play Arcade games as well as others.  Have a cheap four port USB hub. To test used the Classic controllers and two PS4 controllers.  Check out the video > here or below to see if or how well it works.

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry, have a game comparison for Lethal Enforcers. Have been trying out the Magnus RC build for the PlayStation Classic. This lets you play Arcade games as well as others. Gave an old favourite a try, Lethal Enforcers. Back in the day would rent the SEGA Genesis a lot. So got thinking why not compare the different versions. You can see the video > here or below.

PSP Games On The PlayStation Classic

Posted in I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 17, 2020 by getbent57

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry, talk about running PSP games on a PlayStation Classic. For about a year have been using AutoBleem for the PlayStation Classic. It was version 0.6. something. With 0.8. something. They add all kinds of new things. One which lets you play some PSP games. It all so supports wired PS4 controllers. In this video give it a try. While not prefect. It nice to revisit some old favourites. You can see the video > here or below.

[Update] Since making this. There has been another new update to AutoBleem, 0.9.0

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry, have a video on a way to improve the graphics on the PlayStation Classic in AutoBleem and Retroarch. It simple to do. The video walks you though how to do it for each. Not sure if it will work with all games. But if it does work. You can see a big difference.  Which you can see > here or below.

Half-Life Running On A PlayStation Classic

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 16, 2019 by getbent57

People are still doing lots of great things with the PlayStation Classic.  Watched a video the other day on how to play Half-Life on it.  Of course you need to have the Classic and have Autobleem or Bleemsync so you can run RetroArch or RetroBoot.  Next you need to download some files to place on you USB drive.  The other main thing is you need a copy of Half-Life on your computer.  This is because you need to copy the game files over to your USB drive.  It sounds a bit complicated but it’s not.  That video I mentioned is a tutorial.  Which you can see > here or below.  I do own a copy of Half-Life from back in the Windows 98 SE days.  Might give this a try.

RetroArch

Have had my GPD XD for a few days now.  The app I have been using to emulate the games is RetroArch.  This is a very slick program.  The looks reminds me of the PlayStation 3 menu screens.   There are lots of options to look at.  Have know idea what a lot of them do.  Had some trouble at first trying to keep my input configuration to stay the way I wanted it.  Have looking around figured out how to save it.  Some of the emulators work better than others.  So finding the works the best takes some time.  However once you find one you are happy with it works like a top.

LaunchBox

Have made a few post talking about wanting to put LaunchBox on my old computer.  That computer runs Window Vista.  So thought it would make the prefect setup to to have old games running it.  Have read and see lots of great things about LanuchBox.  Am pretty sure it is an awesome program.  While installing.  It has to install the newest .Net Framework.   Which is fine but that doesn’t support Vista.  So am out of lucking with that.  I know as of April (2017) Microsoft is done with Vista.  But still thought it will still be able to run programs.  Think I will look into Retroarch next.

Back in January (2017) made a post talking about LaunchBox.  This program is a frontend program that brings a bunch of game emulators together in once place.  In that post share a video of Metal Jesus Rocks showing it off.  You can see that > here.   Ever since than have been thinking about trying it out.  Now that I have a new computer.  Think I will give it a go on my old one.  Have a few days off together soon.  So hopping to give it a try then.  Will be back with an update on how it went.

LaunchBoxWas watching one of the newest videos from Metal Jesus Rocks.  He and a friend were updating his arcade cabinet.  Which you can see > here or below.  They then showed it off working.  The software it was running has the coolest and slickest interface I have ever seen.  The program is called LaunchBox.   Not hundred percent sure but think it use the same backend as RetroPie,  which is RetroArch.  Think I will give it a try on my computer.  The website does say it can run on Vista.
