Red Dead Redemption Online

Decided to play some Red Dead Redemption online last night.  Haven’t played this game in a long while.  When I first got the game tried to get into some online matches but it never worked from some reason it would just kick to the free roam mode.   Thinking things might work better now, loaded the game up and it kicked me out.  So I was like what ever, I just do the free roam stuff to level up.

Out of no were I get an invite to join a posse.  Did that at it loaded me into a real player vs player game.  It was Red Dead’s version of capture the flag.  First round was over pretty quick ended up on the winning team.  Next round got my ass handed to me.   Died the most of any one.  Think it was ten times, but did manage to get two.  It loaded it to a different game type which seemed to glitched out.  Gave up on that and went back to free roam.  It was finely nice to see what player vs player was like.  Pretty much like than other game.  Get my ass kicked and not know where I was dying from.

Saw the video below on the Red Dead Redemption website.  It is pretty cool.  Might bring new players to the game or bring back players.

Undead Nightmare Review

Posted in Review's with tags , , , , , , , , , on November 14, 2010 by getbent57

Just a few minutes ago I finished the “story” mode for Undead Nightmare, the Red Dead Redemption DLC.  This is how all DLC should be a fair price ($10) and lots of content.  It took me about 7 hours or so to get through .  That is longer than most new games out now.  But there is still lots to do.  Have about six more towns to save plus all the side challenges.  There is all so the online stuff, which I have not yet tried.

You can’t got wrong downloading this.  If you don’t want to download it there is a disc copy coming out some time near the end of November 2010.

Undead Nightmare: Hands On

Posted in Review's with tags , , , , , , , on November 3, 2010 by getbent57

Got my hands on the Undead Nightmare DLC for Red Dead Redemption.  Downloaded it last Friday.  Have to say it is really good.  It has the best zombies in any game I have very played.  They are creepy.  They the get in a big group and overwhelm you.  Then pull you over your horse it feels like scene out of a movie.  I am over five hours in.  Guess it I have an hour or more left.  So that is longer that most new games and it only cost $10.   One down side it is a bit repetitive.  Will have a review once I finish it.

Undead Nightmare On Oct 26, 2010

Posted in Just something to say with tags , , , , , , , on October 17, 2010 by getbent57

The DLC for Red Dead Redemption called the Undead Nightmare will be out Oct 26, 2010.  From what I read you can download but as well they are putting out a disc with all the other DLC they put out.  For the $30, which is a really good deal.

This is the press release they posted on Facebook.

“On October 26th, the Undead Nightmare will be unleashed upon the world of Red Dead Redemption, with an entirely new single-player storyline, as well as brand new multiplayer content.

Seemingly overnight, a zombie plague ravages the once bountiful frontier, decimating the landscape and reawakening the dead. In towns, settlements, and outposts throughout the world, the uninfected citizens are left to fight for survival against waves of the undead.  John Marston must ride out into the vast and terrifying world and survive long enough to find a cure.

With four unique zombie classes – each with their own characteristics, plus new infected predatory animals roaming the countryside, and non-traditional weaponry like the Blunderbuss – which can be loaded with looted remains of fallen zombies, the Undead Nightmare Pack offers an entirely original gameplay experience for fans of Red Dead Redemption.  Additionally, the deadly Tomahawk and the Explosive Rifle make a triumphant comeback and will be available exclusively for those who downloaded the Legends and Killers Pack and the Liars and Cheats Pack.

The all new single-player narrative features new challenges, quests, and ambient events, including Missing Persons, where the player must find a missing survivor lost amongst the throngs of undead.  This new release also brings new content to Multiplayer, with Undead Overrun, a brand new multiplayer survival mode where waves of infected enemies attack and players must work together to stay alive against increasingly difficult odds.

The Undead Nightmare Pack will be available for download from Xbox LIVE (800 Microsoft Points) and PlayStation Network ($9.99) and requires a copy of Red Dead Redemption to play.  Also coming soon, Undead Nightmare, a single, stand-alone disc that bundles together for the first time ever, the Undead Nightmare Pack, the Outlaws to the End Co-Op Mission Pack, the Legends and Killers Pack, the Liars and Cheats Pack and all the Multiplayer Free Roam modes released to date.  Undead Nightmare will be available at retail stores everywhere for $29.99/£24.99/€29.99 and does not require a copy of Red Dead Redemption to play.”

The official trailer is out for the Red Dead Redemption’s DLC Undead Nightmare.  I have said this in my last posts talking about it.  It looks very fun.  Can’t wait to try  it.  They keep saying it will be out “very soon”.   My best guess it will be out or around Halloween.
