In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry, talk about running PSP games on a PlayStation Classic. For about a year have been using AutoBleem for the PlayStation Classic. It was version 0.6. something. With 0.8. something. They add all kinds of new things. One which lets you play some PSP games. It all so supports wired PS4 controllers. In this video give it a try. While not prefect. It nice to revisit some old favourites. You can see the video > here or below.

[Update] Since making this. There has been another new update to AutoBleem, 0.9.0

PSP Game With AutoBleem And Retroboot

Posted in Just something to say with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 1, 2020 by getbent57

A few posts back talked about using a newer version of AutoBleem which comes with a newer version of Retroboot.  This Retroboot is pretty much RetroArch running on the PlayStation Classic.  One thing I read it can play some PSP games.  Decided to give that a go.  Run into a small problem most PSP games you need an analog stick.  There is an easy fix for that.  Just plug in a PS4 controller.  Works right out of the box. Once it’s plugged in and turn it on.  It shows a screen to configure the controller.  Then it works great.  The few PSP games run ok for the most part.  There are some audio hiccups.  But they seems to play all right.  I know it will not work with all games but it’s pretty cool it can.

Sony PSP

Sony_PSPIt was a storm day back on January 27, 2015.   Work was shut down early.  When I got home thought we might lose the power.  Started to charge up my phone and though I should dig out the PlayStation Portable (PSP).  Have not touch this in a very long time.  I am guessing its been years.  Did a search on this blog.  The last time I talked about the PSP was in November 2009.  Once I got it charged up.  Did a check to see if there was any updates.  Did that which didn’t take long at all.  Only own a few games.  So took a look in the PlayStation Store to see what was there.  After looking though that remember why I stopped using it.  It was hard on the hands.   My right had started to cramp up a bit.  Now thinking about buying a Vita again.   Not sure how much I would use it.  But think it would be better to hold.  Still remember buying this on launch day back in March 2005.  Which will be ten years on March 24.  Forgot how much I paid so had to look that up.  Turns out it was $300 at launch.  Not sure what I was thinking back thing.  I guess I fell for the hype.

New PS Vita Model

PS-Vita-2000-BundleFew post back talked about may be getting myself a Playstation Vita.  Was guessing there would be a new model out soon since other parts of the world have them.  Well turns out I was right.   Back on February 10, 2014 over at the Playstation blog > here, the confirmed the new slim version is coming to the US (so that means Canada was well).   The new model comes in a Borderlands 2 bundle.   That is pretty cool.  It is a fun game.  Just wonder if it will look and play the same as the PS3 version.  The bundle comes with the slim Vita, Borderlands 2 with the six DLC packs and a 8GB Vita memory card.  All so the battery lasts long as well.   All for $200.  That is the same price and they are now.  So I think it is a good deal.  It is set to come out some time in the spring.  Will have to keep an eye out for this.

Playstation Vita

SonyNGP.jpgThinking about getting myself a PlayStation Vita.  They are pretty cheap now.  The going price is $200.  There is a new slim version out in some parts of the world.  At some point there will be a slim one out in North America.  So think that might drive the “fat” versions price down.  The reason I am thinking about getting one because it can work with the PS3 and more so with the PS4.  Don’t own a Playstation 4, but will at some point.  Another good thing is if you get Playstation Plus it will cover all three devices.   With Plus there are free or cheap games out every month to download.  On the other had.  I do own a PSP.  Got that the day it came out.  Thought it would be awesome.  It is kind of cool but gave up playing it.  The games were not that good.  All so it hurt my hands after playing for awhile.  The Vita is much better that way.  Just don’t know if I will use it enough to justify the price.

LittleBigPlanet PSP Demo

littlebigplanet psp Gave the LittleBigPlanet PSP demo a try yesterday (Nov 22, 2009).  The demo is short.  You get to play one full level and one mini game level.  The game feels like the PS3 version.  There are some changes, well it is a PSP game after all.  It seems to work well on the PSP.  Not too sure how easy it will be to make your own level since you don’t get that option in the demo.

Rock Band Unplugged Demo

Posted in Just something to say with tags , , , , , , , on May 29, 2009 by getbent57

Rock Band Unplugged There is a new Rock Band game coming with is called Rock Band Unplugged.  You might be thinking another Rock Band, but here is the kicker it is for the PSP.  I was thinking how are they going to play Rock Band on the PSP.  Well I tired the demo today and it works good.  It looks and plays some what like the other games.  This time you play all for instruments, you press the L and R buttons to switch between them.  It is not as hard as it sounds.  To play each instrument you have two notes on each side of the PSP.  The left side you use the up and left button.  Then on the right side you use the triangle and circle.  This works out good.  Once you hit all the notes on one instrument with out messing up it plays by its self allowing you to move to the next instrument.   The demo is a bit short because they only give you a small part of three songs to try.   If you have a PSP give the demo a try.
