Lethal_EnforcersMade a few posts talking about Lethal Enforcers 2: Gun Fighters on the SEGA Genesis.  We had lot of fun with this light gun game.  One day while looking at games to rent we seen Lethal Enforcers.  We rented it on the spot.  With part two we just used the Genesis controllers.  At the rental store the first game come with the a big blue light gun called The Justifier.  Remember being super excited to get home and use it.  We took turns playing though both games.

Flash forward to day.  Through emulation got to replay both of theses.  While the first game doesn’t hold up well. However think there is some fun to be had even if you are using a controller.  While looking up info on this game seen that there was a PlayStation version.  So gave that a go.  It is not a great port because there are some stupid long load times.  Then a few days back got to give the Arcade version of the game a try.  Again with a controller but this is the best one to play.  It runs better and there is a lot more detail.  An since it emulation I have unlimited quarters.  Think I will make a video on comparing the version of the games.  They only version I haven’t tired is the SEGA CD.

It was back in 2015 when I first blogged about Lethal Enforcers 2: Gun Fighters.  Played it at a friends house on a SEGA Genesis.  My brother and I had a copy when we were kids.  We would play thought it start to finish just about weekly.  Well a few nights go played it again this time though emulation on a PC in two player.  The game is very dated but still lots of fun.  While looking at the Wikipedia page (linked above) read that there was a PlayStation compilation of the two games.  Never knew that.  Going to see if I can get my hands on a copy just to see if its better or worst then the Genesis version.

While clearing out some old paper work.  Came across student load stuff.  There was an envelope which I would keep receipts of things I bought with that money.  All this stuff in no longer good.   So was shredding it.  Then seen the receipt for the Sega Genesis Nomad.   Back in September 2012 made a post taking about the Nomad.  Saying I most likely paid to much for it.  Well the receipt is pretty faded but can clearly make out I paid $219.00.  That was before tax.  At the bottom it has the year, 1997.  Not sure it it was the smartest investment I have every made.  However it is twenty years ago and it still works.

Lethal_Enforcers_II_Gun_FightersA few nights ago go got to play an old Sega Genesis game, which my brother and I had but ended up selling.  It was 1994’s  Lethal Enforcers 2: Gun Fighters.  This is an port of the arcade game.  Back in the day they would be full of light gun games.  All ways like those type of games.  So being able to play on at home was cool.  Even if we didn’t have a light gun.  The game let you play two player with controllers.  The graphics don’t hold up that well but are very interesting at the same time.  Of the most part the background are real pictures with animated parts on top.  The bad guys you shoot are sprites. With about four frames of animation.   Still think it is a fun game to pick up an play every now again.  If you never seen it in action or want to see it again there are lots of video out there.  You can see on of those > here or below.

Sega-GenesisHave got the retro game bug.  Dug out my old Sega Genesis.  Have not played this in a very long time, think some time back in late 90’s.  How ever did/do play some of the games on my Sega Genesis Nomad.  Once I found it and the power cord for it.  Cleaned the dust off, then hook it up to my TV it worked great.  First tried Comix Zone.  This is one of my favourite games.  Even thou it is difficult.  I just put in the invincibility cheat.  That is what is great about these old games most of then had cheat codes.  At first the game didn’t work so I tired Vectorman 2.  Remember liking this game, then remembered why I stopped playing it.  It was because I couldn’t get past the second level.  Keep getting lost.  Have know idea were to go.  Put Comix Zone back in once it the dust was nocked out of it.  It worked great.  Mind you it doesn’t look the best because these games were not designed for HDTV’s.  Next I tried Batman Returns.  Forgot how bad this game is.  It is very difficult.   Have a few more games to try.  List below.

Comix Zone

Vectorman 2

Batman Returns

Terminator 2: Judgment Day

Instruments of Chaos starring Young Indiana Jones

Jordan vs. Bird

Mario Andretti Racing

Star Trek: Deep Space Nine – Crossroads of Time

F-22 Interceptor: Advanced Tactical Fighter

Technoclash

Sonic The Hedgehog 2

SegaNomad After my post yesterday talking about Double Dragon: Neon.  Got thinking about old games and what not.  So I got out my Sega Genesis Nomad.  Have not touched this in years.  Want to say may be more than ten years since I have been turned out.  Wanted to play True Lies.  Before I go on, you might be saying what in a Sega Nomad?  Well it is a portable Sega Genesis.  I remember when I bought it.  Seen it in the game case.  Thought it was the coolest thing ever.  Being able to play the Genesis games I have with having to hook it up to a TV.  Was an awesome idea.  Don’t remember what I paid for it but I am sure it was too much.  Because soon after the Playstation era started.  All so didn’t use it that much.

Any who back to the game I wanted to play, True Lies.  My brother and I would rent this game all the time.  It was a fun game but tough.  Then we got the cheat codes.  Which made it so much more fun.  Years later I seen that the video store was selling off their old Genesis stuff.  So I had to buy it.   Today when I tried to play it.  It didn’t work.  Thought that the Nomad was broken.  After a few tires still didn’t work.  So tired another game with did work.  So one last time and it booted up.  After putting in the codes played the first three levels.  It pretty much how I remembered it.  Good Times.
