Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics Review

Got my copy of Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics in the mail today.  Have been waiting a while to see this.  As soon as I open the envelop I had the disc out and in to watch.  Then I was a bit let down. I was thinking it would be better than it is.  I thought it would be more like they would talk about and break down all the big villains.  They only touch on that a little.  They spent most of the time talking about the villains as a whole.  They do go into detail  how they are important to making a great story.  While it was interesting to hear from the people that make the comics as well as other it was kind of boring.  What the big point of the documentary is you need heroes to have villains and villains to have heroes.

The idea of a documentary talking about the villains of DC Comics is pretty cool.  Then you watch it.  It’s kind of interesting but all so a bit boring.  There are no extras on the disc. That would have been nice to see some key animations or TV shows that high lite  the villains.  This documentary falls into the rent category.  I did buy the graphic novel that shares the same name, Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics at the same time.  Thinking that will be much better

Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics

Yesterday went to looking for a copy of the documentary Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics.  But didn’t find a copy.   So ordered a copy off of Amazon.ca.  They have are really good price on the Blu-ray (As of Oct 26, 2013) at $16.99.   Really want to see this documentary.  While I was looking at ordering this remember the graphic novel that shares the same name Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics.  This book is a collection of stories that are about the bad guys.  This should be a very good read.  Should have both these items before some time next Friday.

Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics

Yes I am this subject yet again how ever not taking about the up coming documentary Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics.  Which will be out October 25, 2013.  But here to talk about the trade paperback or graphic novel (what ever you want to call it) that shares the same name.  It will feature a collection of stories from many of the DC characters.  From the Amazon.ca listing,

This looks pretty cool.  It is set to come out September 10, 2013.  Let another thing I will have to put on things I want to buy list.

Necessary Evil: Super-Villains Of DC Comics Preview

There is a new preview or what they are calling it on YouTube an exclusive extra scene.  For the up coming documentary Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics.  This clip is called Left for Dead.  It talks about Red Hood (the Jason Todd version) .  How a hero can become bad and if he can get redemption.  While they are talking there are clips from my favourite DC Universe Animated movie Batman: Under the Red Hood.  Think this upcoming documentary will be pretty awesome.  It set to come out October 25, 2013.

Necessary Evil: Super-Villains Of DC Comics Preview

A few days back talked about the up coming DVD/Blu-ray Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics.  This is the upcoming documentary talking about the villains of the DC Universe.  It looks and sounds awesome.  I know I will be getting a copy.  There is a trailer out for it.  Which you can see > here.   There is now a sneak peak or a small preview.  Geoff Johns and Dan DiDio talk about the importance of rogues galleries and which are some of their favorites.  You can see that > here or below.  It will be out October 25, 2013.  I hope this documentary opens the door for others like it.

Necessary Evil: Super-Villains Of DC Comics

There is a new Blu-ray (may be on DVD as well) coming out that looks very interesting.   It is called Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics.   They are saying it is a full length documentary talking about the villains of the DC Universe.  It is being narrated by Christopher Lee.  It will have all kinds of interviews with people from this industry.  It set to come out October 25, 2013.  I will be buy a copy because it sounds very cool.  The official synopsis is,

“Necessary Evil: Super-Villains of DC Comics explores the thin line between right and wrong, the nature of evil and how super-villains can reflect society’s dark side as well as our own personal fears. It also attempts to uncover the reasons why comic book fans are so fascinated by the very characters they hope to see defeated. The film focuses on DC Comics’ most terrifying villains, including The Joker, Lex Luthor, Bane, Black Adam, Black Manta, Catwoman, Darkseid, Deathstroke, Doomsday, General Zod, Sinestro, the Suicide Squad, and others.”
