Green Lantern Review

Just finished watching Green Lantern.  This is one movie I wanted to see but after it got a lot of bad buzz wasn’t to sure.  Happy that I saw it but it wasn’t good as some of the other super hero movies out there.  Think it is because of the comics it based on.  Think it was more difficult to pull of the Green Lantern universe.  It is well worth watching but if you want to see something else first watch that instead.

Not as bad as some people were saying.  There is some fun in this movie.  While there is not much super hero action going on.  What there is is not bad.  It is a strong rent.

Green Lantern: Secret Origin Review

A few posts ago I talked about picking the the graphic novel Green Lantern: Secret Origin.  Finished reading it.  Really like it.  Have seen this story played out in the DC cartoons and animated movie.  How ever this went into more detail on Hal Jordan.  Stuff I did not know.  Only thing I didn’t like was the some what cliff-hanger ending.  Left me wanting more.   Now I have to look up what book or books come after it to get the full story.

Really like this book.  The art is awesome.  Well written.  Started to get really good at that end then it stopped.  What was the only down side.  Left me wanting to know more.  Well worth the price.  Another great deal at Wal-mart.  The cover price is $16.99, I paid $11.89.

Green Lantern: Secret Origin

Picked up a new graphic novel today, Green Lantern: Secret Origin.  Well it is the new edition that was re-released for a movie tie in.  It has an introduction by and cover of Ryan Reynolds.  Read the first part of the book.  Pretty good so far.  As you can guess from the title it is the origin story of how Hal Jordan becomes a Green Lantern.  I am sure  there is more to the story but that is far as I got.  Will have a review once I am done reading it.

Green Lantern: Emerald Knights Review

The newest in the DC Universe animated movie, Green Lantern: Emerald Knights is now out.  If you have been following my blog you might know that I am a fan of this movies.  While this one is great but not my favourite.  What is cool about it is has more than one story woven around the main story.  Unlike other movies that have done this, this one uses the same art style thought out.  I am not up on all the Green Lantern characters so it was nice to see the origin stories.

I picked up the Blu-ray combo back. It comes with all kinds of extras. This movies looks awesome in High Def.  I say it is a must buy because I am a fan of these DC Universe movies.  But just fans of animation you should check it out.

Green Lantern: First Flight Review

I picked up Green Lantern: First Flight today (July 28, 2009).  This is an awesome movie.  This is the first all Green Lantern movie.  So I was thinking it would be all about the Hal Jordan becomes a Lantern.  Well I was wrong.  They pretty much cut to the chase.  They only take a few minutes to show how he got his ring.  The story is more about how Sinestro becomes a bad guy.  The animation like the other DC Universe movies is top notch.

If you are not into comic books or comic book inspired movies you will most not like get into this one.  But for ever one else this is awesome.  If you are a fan buy it.  The rest go give it a rent.  You will not be disappointed.

Green Lantern: First Flight

The newest direct to dvd called Green Lantern: First Flight from DC Universe will be out tomorrow (July 27, 2009).  This is the 5th one they have put out.  I have seen then all and own four of them.  I forgot to buy Superman Doomsday.  This Green Lantern movies looks good.  These guys know to make a movie.  They have another on the works called Superman/Batman: Public Enemies.  Can’t wait to pick that one up as well.
