Batman: The Long Halloween

Have just finished re-reading Batman: The Long Halloween.  Did read this back in 2012.   But didn’t take my time with it since I borrowed.  Back then remember really like the story.  Have reading it again it was way better.  One of the best Batman stories I have read so far.  While all the Batman bad guys we all know and love are it there.   It is more grounded in a real world setting.  If you seen the best Batman movie, The Dark Knight, there are lots of elements taken from this story and worked into the movie.   This story is all most twenty years old and it could have came out yesterday.  Some times while older stories can be still good they don’t hold up well.  This not one of them.   I guess that this while to this day you can still buy new copies in stores.  This is well worth the time and money.  The more Batman in your life the better.

Batman: The Long Halloween

Have all ways heard lots of get things about Batman: The Long Halloween.  Have read that is is one of the best Batman stories every written.  The story line was first releases in a 13 issue arc.  Back in 1996/1997.  Know the story takes place early in Batman’s career.  A few days back while at the mall, went into the book store just to see what was there.  Had some money left on a gift card I got years back.  Seen that there was a newer looking cover on The Long Halloween.  So decided to buy it.  Most times I buy trade paperbacks off of Amazon.ca because it is so much cheaper.  Doesn’t really matter.  Now I have another Batman story to read.  Not sure when I will get to.  That is because have about four other trades to read first.  The more the better.

A Game Of Thrones: The Graphic Novel: Volume Four

It about a month way from A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel: Volume Four from being out.  This will be out on May 12, 2015.  First read it would be out on the 5th, but that was back in November.   Have the first three volumes and have been looking forward to reading this new one.  If you never heard of these.  What they are is they turn the first book in the The Songs of Fire and Ice book series called A Game of Thrones.  Into a graphic novel.   You more than likely know the TV show based off the same books.  These are how ever are a comic book interpretation of the book.  I know the story of the first book but it nice to read another take on it.

A Game Of Thrones: The Graphic Novel: Volume Four

Have been waiting to hear when A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel: Volume Four would be out.  Have good news it will be out May 5, 2015.  Know that is awhile way yet.  Just looking forward to reading it.  This one will close out the adaption of A Song of Ice and Fire the first book all so titled A Game of Thrones.  Really enjoyed the first three.  Know this one will be just as good.  Not sure if they are going to keep turning each of the books into graphic novels. It would be cool if they did.

A Game Of Thrones: The Graphic Novel Volume Three Review

Have made may posts about Game of Thrones show,  the book and the graphic novels.  Writing yet another one.  This time for a review for A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel: Volume Three.  Liked the first two volumes and like this one just as much.  What makes these great this is they use the book not the TV show for how people looks and plot points.  Mind you there are some things are the same.  Which is fine because you get to see how others interpreted they same story.  The art is all these volumes was drawn by one guy.  Which is a good thing to keep everything the same  looks thought out the story.

This is another awesome volume to read and collect.  These are as must have for any A Song of Fire and Ice fans and or Game of Thrones TV show.  The more there is in this world the better.  The only down side is there is only one more volume to come out.  Not sure when.  That will mark the end of the first book turned into a graphic novel.  All so not sure if they are going to keep the graphic novel interpretation going for the rest of  The Songs of Fire and Ice.  I hope they do.

A Game Of Thrones: The Graphic Novel Volume Three

Ordered myself a copy of A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel: Volume Three.  Bought the first two volumes last summer.  Have been waiting to this one to come out.  It was released March 11, 2014.   As I am typing this Amazon.ca is asking $18.77.  Which is a really good deal.  If I would have bought it at the local book store it would have been close to $30.  In order to get free shipping you have to spend over 25 dollars.  Was think was else I should get.  Went though some of the items on my wish list and got Assassin’s Creed – The Ankh of Isis Trilogy.  Will be back with a review then I finish reading it. But first I got to get thought some other books first.

A Game Of Thrones: The Graphic Novel Volume Three

The next volume, number three, in the A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel will be out soon.  Amazon.ca says it will be released March 11, 2014.  Have the first two volumes so I will be getting this one as well.  Am a huge fan of this world the Game of Thrones takes place in.  Have all five books.  Three season of the show on Blu-ray and will have the three volumes of the graphic novels.  What I like about  the graphic novels how different take on the books rather the the show.  They both show case just how good the books are and bring their own strength to the table.

A Game Of Thrones: The Graphic Novel Volume Two Review

Have finished reading A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel: Volume Two.  First off I real liked Volume One.  This one however is much better.  I think it is because it found it own path.  The first volume was to close to the TV show.  Volume two does a much better job turning the book into a graphic novel.  The world is more alive it pulls you in just like the books do.  Enjoyed reading this a lot.  The art has so much detail it awesome.  Because it is graphic novel they can show a lot more than the TV show can.

Volume two is much better than volume one.  Does an awesome job of bringing you into the world.  Now looking forward to volume three which will be out in March 2014.  Not sure how many volumes it will take to finished off the first book.   But it would be awesome if they kept it going with the other books in the series.

A Game Of Thrones: The Graphic Novel Volume One Review

Finished reading A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel: Volume One so now it’s time for a review.  First off this graphic novel is an adaption of the book A Game of Thrones.   They say that so it will not be confused with the HBO TV show.  Both being based on the same book there will be some things that are the same.  In some of the panels and scenes from the show are so close it looks like they were copied off each other.  While I did like reading this it just seemed to miss out on what makes the book and TV show so awesome.  That being said that is very hard to turn such a big and complicated book into a comic book.  For that they did an awesome job.  Just can’t  see non-TV/book fans buying these graphic novels,  Volume One or Volume Two.  Say this because it doesn’t do a good job bringing you into to the world and introducing the characters.

Enjoyed reading this graphic novel very much.  Have now started reading volume two.  Will being buying a copy of volume three when it comes out in March 2014.  Don’t think non fans of the books or show will becomes fans of the novels.  But fans of one or two of those are going to like this adaption.

A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel

Was my birthday a few days back.  So I went to the book store just looking around to see if there was anything I would like to treat myself with.  The came across a bunch of copies of A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel: Volume Two.   Have heard about and seen the first volume(A Game of Thrones: The Graphic Novel: Volume One) on Amazon.  Thought about buying them before so I want not buy them now.  Picked the volume two then couldn’t seen volume one.  So I was thinking not going buy one with out the other.  So after a search found just one copy left, so grabbed it.  The graphic novels are an adaption of the books, A Song of Ice and Fire.   Am sure the HBO show, Game of Thrones as some impact of the look of the novels as well.  Speaking of the art it looks awesome.  Can’t wait to read them.  Just have to finish up one other book first.  Oh, Volume Three will be out in March 2014.
