Have finished working on the gCreate Official Rocket Ship 3D model. Am very happy with how it turned out. In my last post taking about this. Was painting the flame part of the model orange. However that was looking every good with the cheap paint I was using. So went with some red and that looked better to me. You can see it for yourself in the picture below. Did print this model scaled down by 50%. May be at some point will make it full scale.
Getting close to finished the gCreate Official Rocket Ship 3D model I am working on. The smoke base is done. The sliver paint I got for the rocket turned out great. Only need two coats. However the flame part need more work. Put about five coats on this orange and it still looked bad. So decided to go with some red. One other thing I should have done before painting was test fit the parts. Turns out need to do some light sanding. Have to be careful not to mess up the paint.
Got some more paint on the gCreate Official Rocket Ship 3D model I am working on. Was looking for some sliver paint. The only one I could find was Folkart Silver Anniversary Metallic. Put the first coat on the rocket. It turned out much better than I though it might. Have three coats of white now base/smoke part of the model. Have a few coat on the flame part, but think it needs some more. Once it’s done will take some pictures.
Have another update on the gCreate Official Rocket Ship 3D model I am working on. All the parts are printed and have them primed as well. The first try at printing the rocket if failed. So when I re-printed it add more supports. Then when I was taking that off, two of the little feet parts broke. So just glued those back on. My goal now is to paint it.
In my last post talked about how I want to print the gCreate Official Rocket Ship. Have printed the smoke base. That took just under 13 hours. Did that overnight and then the next day gave it a coat of primer. Next up is the main part of the ship. That is where I ran into some trouble, it failed. One of the outside rockets broke some how. Luckily I was home to check on it every now and again. So was able to stop it from wasting any more filament. So re-sliced the file with add supports from the program it’s self and ones I have added. Hope that works. Will be back with more updates.
Long before I ever got a 3D printer, was just thinking about them. Found this, gCreate Official Rocket Ship, very cool model on Thingiverse.com. Was going though some old bookmarks and this was there. So this is what I will be printing next. It’s going to take many hours. I just put a new 1kg spool of filament on the printer so I will be good to go. All so think this model will be simple to paint.
