Found some thing very cool today. It is a special Game of Thrones Blu-ray set. It contains season one and two of the show on Blu-ray. But wait there is more. Which is, three exclusive Funko Pop vinyls. They Khal, Khaleesi and Rhagal (which is one of the dragons). You can check it out at Amazon.ca > here. As I am typing this (Nov 8, 2013) they are asking $97.29. Might seem like a lot of money but you get both season on Blu-ray and DVD plus the vinyl’s. Think if you were to buy one of these vinyl’s in a store they would be around $20. If I didn’t all ready own the first two seasons I would think about buying this. Do think this would make a great gift for a Game of Thrones fan. How ever if they are a fan like myself they all ready own the seasons.

This time it is a review of season two on Blu-ray. Not going to review the show its self since I have all ready done that last year. Going to talk about the Blu-ray box set. First off it is much better than the first season Blu-ray. You get more for you money. Not all do you get the HD version of all the episodes you get a copy of al them on DVD as well. Another good thing over the first season is there are more extras and commentaries. All but one episode as a commentary track on it. Then are (I think) four episodes that have two commentaries. I listened to them all. Some were much better than others. Like learning more about how the each episode was made, behind the scenes stuff. Was a bit disappointed with one extra I was looking forward to watching, Game of Thrones: Inner Circle. It has some of the actors and two producers talking about the season. It was good but way to short. Seemed like the cut stuff out of it as well. One the plus side there is one extra feature that made up for that, Histories and Lore. From the back of the box, “Learn about the mythology of Westeros and Essos as told from the varying perspectives of the characters themselves.” This was very cool. It has the actors voices in character with motion graphic animation tell you backstory/history of the world of Game of Thrones. Enjoyed this very much.
If you are a follower of this blog you know I am a fan so you know what I am going to score this. This is a must buy for any fan. I keep talking about this show because I like it. But all so because it is just awesome. Have got two people from work to check this show out. They are the type in a million years watch this type of thing but now they are big fans as well. Bring on season three.

Can’t wait to start watching all the episodes again. This time around the Blu-ray comes with a lot more extras and more commentaries. The back of the box says there are 12 audio commentaries. So my guess is some at lest two episodes have two commentaries. Of all the extras on the discs the one called Game of Thrones: Inner Circle looks like the best. It have five of the actors plus two executive discussing filming season two in a roundtable format . This is on of my favourite all times shows if you have not figured that out by now. So enough talking time to start watching.

I know Wal-mart has it on for a cheaper price the first three days then goes up to the regular price. Forget how much they are asking for. But it doesn’t matter since I will be buying it any way. Oh, and if you decided to get a Blu-ray copy from Future Shop it comes with the exclusive “Lannister Packaging”. Looked at the picture of the back cover over at Amazon. It looks the the Blu-ray comes with some cool looking special features. Will let you know more when I get my copy. Planning on watching all the episodes from seasons one and two to refresh me the story lines just in time for season three to start. Which is March 31, 2013.

“There’s almost another full episode’s worth of extra minutes spread across the season,” Weiss says. “One of the great liberties with HBO is we’re not forced to come in at a specific time. We can’t be under 50 minutes or over 60, but that gives us a lot of flexibility.”

Posted in Review's with tags Game Of Thrones, Game of Thrones Review, Game Of Thrones Season 2, Game Of Thrones Season Two, Game Of Thrones: Season 2 Review, Game Of Thrones: Season Two Review on June 4, 2012 by getbent57Sadly season two of Game of Thrones is all over. But man it was awesome. Like the first season it leaves you wanting more. This is one of those great shows that were don’t know what is going to happen next (unless you have read the books). One moment the show puts a smile on your face then there a twist that will shock you. Another great thing is they flushed out more this season is that not all the characters are not just black and white or good vs evil. Even one is a nice shade of grey.
Can not say enough good things about this show. The best thing I can say is go watch it now. Now we just have to sit back and wait in patiently wait for season three. Going to read the books while I wait.

Game Of Thrones: Season Two
Posted in Just something to say with tags Game Of Thrones, Game Of Thrones Season 2, Game Of Thrones Season Two on May 31, 2012 by getbent57There is only one episode left in season two of Game of Thrones. This is my newest favourite show. It is sad that it will be all over till next year. That is my guess that season three will be airing in April 2013. Will look forward to that. Think it will all so be a long wait to buy the Blu-ray as well (March 2013?). My goal it to have the first and second book finished by then. Many into the third. Pretty sure the last episode will end with a big cliff-hanger. Will have a full review of season two some time next week.
Game Of Thrones: Season Two
Posted in Just something to say with tags Game Of Thrones, Game Of Thrones Season 2, Game Of Thrones Season Two on April 3, 2012 by getbent57Well season two of Game of Thrones started (April 1, 2012). All I can say after watching episode one is, wow. The show picks all most right after the first season. Think a little bit of time as past between them. The episode does a nice job of catching up with all the characters and introducing the new ones. Once it starts it does not not stop with surprise after surprise. That is what I love most about his show. It is not afraid to do things that other shows will not. No one is safe. Now I can’t wait for episode two. I know I say this about every TV show I like but this has to be the best show on TV.
