New Project

Decided to start on a new sort of long term video project.  Now that it is September which pretty much fall will be here soon.  The idea I am working on, thought about doing it last year but it was too late.  Ok back to the idea.  We have a very leafy maple tree in the yard.  The plan is to take is to take a picture of it every day.  Put all these pictures together in a time-lapse video.  The goal is to see the tree turn from green to changing colour then to falling off.  Going to try and take the picture at the same time every day, around 5/6pm.  That might change as the fall kicks in a the sun goes done earlier.  Also in the same spot so the video wouldn’t be do jarring.  Think this will turn out pretty good.  All so plan to set up a new web page to show the progress.  Need to think of a name as well.  So check for more updates.

The Project

Have set up a new page on this blog called The Project.  Click that link or the link the right side under the Pages section.  A quick run down, The Project is a time lapse video I am working on.  Set up the page to share pictures from every time I set I shoot.  Then the final video when it is done.  Trying to make this the biggest video project I have tried.  So far I have two days of shooting done.  Plan to shoot every day on my days off for the next month or so.  So check back often to see new pictures and then the finale project.

Project

Last night while trying to fall asleep and failing as usual.  Got thinking I need to get back into making video projects been months since I made one.  I enjoy making them.  Weather they are bad or not its no big deal still fun.  Got up and charged up the battery in my GoPro.  Decided I am going to make another time lapse video.  Going to make this one more grand in scale.  The plan so far is to shoot in many different places over a longer time.  Lets say for the next month or so on my days off I’ll head out to a different spot round where I live.  Set up the camera for a few hours and see what I get.  Have a few ideas in my head how I want to edit it as well.  All so thinking I should make the sound track as well.  Then truly be my project.

All so have a different project floating around in my head.  Was watching some Top Gear.  The all ways do some cool things with filming and editing.  There is one thing I think I can pull off.  Want to try it will my motorcycle.  It is still winter so I am going try a small scale first.  Then when the weather gets warmer try it my motorcycle.  If that works out as so hope it does.  Plan to turn that into a bigger project with more bikes and cars.

The Burial Page

I made a new page just for The Burial.  The Burial is a short film we are working on.  We are close to finishing it.  So keep watching The Burial page.  To hold you over you can check out the trailer and if have seen it all ready watch it again.  LOL.  All so on the page are some behind the scenes pictures.

Short Film Progress

It is time to give an update on how the short film we are making called The Burial is coming along.  Well it is all most there.  Early in the week we got together and discuss what we need to fix and or change.  So most of that is done now.  Just waiting on some pictures and a logo.  Once I get those the film “should” be done.  May be one more screening then it will be online,  I hope.  If you haven’t seen the trailer yet, give it a watch here.

The Burial Trailer

Finished the trailer for the short film called The Burial we are working on today (Oct 9, 2009).   It is short but sweet trailer.  Hope to have the finished film uploaded very soon.  In the mean time watch the trailer lots of times.  LOL.

The Burial

The short film we are making is finished, well in this form.  We plan to keep adding to it and changing a few things.  How ever this first try in done.  I believe we did an awesome job.  We have never tried to make a “real” film before and we had no budget.  It still turned out great.  I had a blast working on this.  I forget get how many hours I spent editing it.  I so hope we will try to do more or different projects because it is fun.

[UPDATE] Had to take the film down. Others were not happy with me posting it yet. Hope to have it back up soon.

Short Film Update

The short film we are making is going great.  We have finished day two of filming.  So that makes its a rap on filming.  Finished the bulk of the editing today (Oct 2, 2009).   I found some great music to use and the best part is that the music is Royalty free.  Kevin MacLeod over at incompetech.com has a lot of music you can use for free but you can give him a donation.  He lets people us his work as long as they give him credit.  Hope to have the finished project up on YouTube soon.  Just waiting on a few more bits.

Short Film Progress

The progress of the short Film we are making is going good.  Still need to get one more day of filming to finish it off.  How ever the first part is done the ruff cut of editing.  It is looking good.  I have started the back ground music.  Once that is done plan to add some sound effects.  The Mark has mock poster made up.  It looks pretty sweet.  Look below to see it.  The real one might be a bit different.  We keep posting as things move along.

Short Film

We started work on a short film yesterday (Sept 27, 2009).  We plan to shoot at two different place.  Once those two are done.  Going to put what we filmed together for our short film.  Day one went really good.  Had good weather and no wind.  Once we get every together and ready it will be posted to YouTube.  Side not this is only a test film to see what we can do and how well it turns out.  Here are some pictures of behind the scenes on day one.
