Elegoo Cura

Have owned my Elegoo Neptune 2 for all most two years now.  During this time have been using the version of Ultimaker Cura that came with it.  I know there are other options out there and updates.  But happy with out this works.  The reason for talking about this I have been trying out support blocker feature.  They call it Eraser in this software.  It took me a bit of time to figure out but think I got the hang of it.  Will find out for sure once I give the part a print.

Slurm Can 3D Model Update

It has been many months since I did any painting of the 3D models I have been working on.  Back in November (2022) talked about the Slurm can that came with the 3D model Fry from Futurama > here over at Printables.com.  Had upscaled the can, printed the parts, glued them together and then primed it.  Since then it has sat on the shelve untouched.  Well until a few days ago started painting again.  Am hoping to have it done by the end of the week.

Batman – 3D File

Have 3D printed a few Batman related files.  Have found another to had to the make list.  You can see it > here over at Thingiverse.  It has his face sitting on top of Batman text which is raised up.  It looks cool and should be simple to print.  Might give it a try on my next day off.

Wednesday Thing

Have printed off another cool file found over at Printables.com.  It is Thing > here from the Netflix show Wednesday.  Still haven’t  watched this show yet.  But know who Thing is from the old TV show.  Which we used to watch re-runs on Sundays as kids.  Didn’t print it full scale.  Cut it buy 50%.  Just to see how well it would turn out.   In which it did.  If I get more time will print it again at full scale.

EconoFil™ Standard PLA Filament

Have had the two spools of EconoFil standard PLA in black > here from Filaments.ca sitting in a box since July (2022).  Now that I have used up all the other filament, it is time to try this one out.  Not to sure if I will need to change any of the setting in the slicer.  So going to print something small first.  If that does ok.  Have a bunch of projects planned.

3D Printing In 2022

This past year I have managed to print off a lot of great things with my Elegoo Neptune 2 FDM 3D printer.  All so managed to paint/finish most of theses.  When fall set in kind of stopped working on these projects.  Missing do them, so the plan is to jump back in to it this January.  Not sure how well the printer will run since it’s in a colder part of the house.  Think I will just try out some small things at first.  The only down side is I will not be able to prime any new model.  That is because the temperature needs to be about 10c outside.

Chibi Spider-Man

Think I have found my next 3D printing project for at Printables.com again.  It this this > here a Chibi Spider-Man.  While not the biggest Spider-Man/Marvel fan this does look really cool.  All so it should be some what easy to paint.   It does seem to be designed to be printed with resin.  But I will be using my FDM printer.  The only down side is when it comes time prime it.  It’s winter here now so will have to keep my eye on the weather.

Slurm Can 3D Model

Have made a few posts talking about this 3D model I am working on, Fry from Futurama > here over at Printables.com.  The person that made this model all so included a option to have him hold a Slurm can.  That is the name of the pop in the show.  Well I decided to upscale that to make more life size.  Printed it in three parts.  Top, middle and bottom.  Just need to do some light sanding to get the bottom to fit.  The I am going to prime and paint it.  Will be back with an update when it is done.

Fry Futurama 3D Model – Update

A little while back talked about the next 3D model project I want to work.  Fry from Futurama > here over at Printables.com.  Since writing that post have gotten all the parts printed, sanded, glued and primed.  Very how with how it is turning out.  Has been the easiest multiple part models I have put together.  Going to start painting it soon.  Just need to get one more colour.  Will be back with an update when it is done.

Fry Futurama 3D Model

Have found the next project I am going to 3D print.  Fry from Futurama > here over at Printables.com.  Have been working on a Bender model.  Which need a bit more paint. Will be back with an update on that one later. [Update that project is done].  This Fry model looks like it will be fun to print out and paint.  Am hoping to get all the parts done while I am on vacation.
