Elegoo PLA Filament – Arrived

A few posts back talked about buying some more Elegoo’s black PLA.  This time went with their four pack > here from Amazon.ca.  When I placed the order it said it would be delivered around April 8, 2024.  That would be about two weeks later.  However was happy to see it was at the post office on March 26, 2024.  Now that I have four rolls might try and work on some bigger projects.

Elegoo PLA Filament

It was back in August (2023) that I ordered two rolls of Elegoo’s black PLA.  Wasn’t too happy at it first.  But however now that I have switched slicing software and getting great results.  So have ordered more.  This time went with a four roll bundle > here from Amazon.ca   It’s a bit cheaper this way.  About $20.00 a roll before tax.

Elegoo PLA Filament Arrived

The Elegoo PLA Filament I ordered off Amazon.ca > here has arrived.  Well it did a few days ago but haven’t gotten around to getting the the post office.  Didn’t take very long to ship.  Just put on last spool of the other brand on the printer.  So not to sure when I will get around to trying it.  When I do and like it.  Will most likely switch over to it full time.  Just because the price it right.

Elegoo PLA Filament

Have ordered myself some more PLA filament.  This time went with the Elegoo brand.  Know a few people what have had used and were happy.  Plus it is cheaper as well.  Go a two pack over at Amazon.ca > here.  At the time of typing this (August 11, 2023) it was going for $43.00 with a $4 off coupon as well as free shipping.  That is a very good deal.  The last stuff I got was from Filaments.ca.  Which I really like and would buy more.  However it is $30.00 plus tax and shipping.

New Filament

It is all most time for me to order some new PLA Filament.  When I open the last spool.  Is when I order two more.  The stuff I have now is this > here from Filaments.ca.  This is really good PLA and had know trouble with it.   However now that Elegoo makes their own.  Thinking about trying that out.  It is all so a bit cheap as well.  Some times they have two or four packs on sale.

microSD Card Trouble With The Elegoo Neptune 2

For a little while my Elegoo Neptune 2 FDM 3D Printer has had trouble reading the microSD card.  You can pick the file you want but the pictures would only load part way.  So the print wouldn’t start.  Had to turn it off, take out the card and try again.  This would help after three or four times.  Well the other day had no luck at all.  Decided to format the card to see if that will help.  Put it the card read that came with the printer and when formatted it.  That is when more trouble happened.  Windows couldn’t read it now.  Got thinking it was the reader it’s self.  Found another card read.  Then formatted the card again.  That worked fine.  Put the file I wanted to print on it.   When the printed booted up it read the card super fast.  Thinking the card read that came with the printer is know longer any good.

Elegoo Cura

Have owned my Elegoo Neptune 2 for all most two years now.  During this time have been using the version of Ultimaker Cura that came with it.  I know there are other options out there and updates.  But happy with out this works.  The reason for talking about this I have been trying out support blocker feature.  They call it Eraser in this software.  It took me a bit of time to figure out but think I got the hang of it.  Will find out for sure once I give the part a print.

EconoFil™ Standard PLA Filament

Have had the two spools of EconoFil standard PLA in black > here from Filaments.ca sitting in a box since July (2022).  Now that I have used up all the other filament, it is time to try this one out.  Not to sure if I will need to change any of the setting in the slicer.  So going to print something small first.  If that does ok.  Have a bunch of projects planned.

3D Printing In 2022

This past year I have managed to print off a lot of great things with my Elegoo Neptune 2 FDM 3D printer.  All so managed to paint/finish most of theses.  When fall set in kind of stopped working on these projects.  Missing do them, so the plan is to jump back in to it this January.  Not sure how well the printer will run since it’s in a colder part of the house.  Think I will just try out some small things at first.  The only down side is I will not be able to prime any new model.  That is because the temperature needs to be about 10c outside.

EconoFil™ Standard PLA Filament Arrived

The EconFil standard PLA in black > here from Filaments.ca arrived in the mail on (July 18, 2022.)  Took about a week to get here.  Which is not too bad but it still cost me $22.00 in shipping.  Back in November (2021) the cheap shipping was $17.00.  Not sure how quickly I will be getting to use this PLA since I just open the last roll of the other PLA I had.  Just hope this stuff is just as good or better.
