There is a very interesting documentary I want to see, They Shall Not Grow Old. This documentary is about what it was like to be a soldier during World War One, the Great War. It was directed by Peter Jackson. They use real footage and audio from 100 years ago and restored/colorized it. You can see the trailer > here or below. The film was all ready shown in the UK. Have read it will be in select theaters on December 17 and 27. Not sure if will be be were I live. Will have to keep and eye out when it comes to disc. May be even Netflix will have it. That would be nice.

Have watched the first three episodes of that and it’s really good. Have discovered another new comic book related documentary. Which is called The Oral History of Image Comics. It was made by the people of the website SYFY Wire.com. Have never heard about this site until I see a link to the doc on FaceBook. Have not watched this five part series yet. Plan to soon. Know a little bit about Image Comics. It was created by big named artists to allow them to keep control over the own works. Think they are most famous for Spawn and The Walking Dead. You can watch the documentary series > here.
A LEGO Brickumentary Review

Everyone knows LEGO is awesome and more than likely have some or did. This documentary covers a lot of ground in the huge world that revolves around LEGO. They start with some history which is really interesting. Take a look inside the company. They the rest which is the best parts. Are talking to people who use it for so many different applications. There are people who use it for art or architecture. Others for therapy or fun. Pretty much everything has a convention. Turns out there are many just about LEGO. It is amazing to see what people can make.
Have to say this is a really good documentary. Like all good ones they only have some much time. Would like to seen more. One other thing I would like them to talked about would have been the video games. Understand why they don’t. It is the story of the toy itself. Do recommended watching this documentary. It is for anyone and everyone. You can check out the trailer > here if you are interested.

They will be making the documentary in the same vain as Why We Ride. But just at Sturgis. Which will be great to watch. Just like their last one you can help out by their Kick Starter Page > here. Think it is a very cool idea. It is set to come out next summer. Hope they get all the funding because I would like to see it. If you haven’t seen Why We Ride it is well worth you time checking out. Am a fan of comic books (even if I only have a few) and there history. This documentary covers the very beginning of how comic books came to, to their fall and right up to now a days with the blockbusters movies. The doc is broken into to three time lines. Part one starts from the very beginning in 1938 to 1958. To were they are formed right up to the government regulation comes into play. Part spans 1959 to 1977. This one covers the space race, atomic age as well as the pop culture world that draws influence of of each other. Part thee covers 1978 to now. This one shows how the comic book world has become more adult and mainstream. Talks about how big superhero movies, TV shows and video games are. This part all so talks about how comics books have become digital.
This is one of the best well made documentaries I have ever seen. The subject matter makes it even better. You don’t even have to ever read a comic books to enjoy this. Even if you ever seen a superhero movie or TV show (I am sure every one has) you would enjoy this just as much. On a side note there is all so a companion book. Which is called Superheroes!: Capes, Cowls and the Creation of Comic Book Culture. This one will be added to my wish list.
