ONN_USB_HubA few weeks back talked about buying a USB hub so I could play two players on the PlayStation Classic and running AutoBleem.  Seen a video on YouTube of a guy trying out different ones.  One of which you could get at Best Buy what worked great with the Classic.  My plan was to buy that.  Well I was in Walmart and seen they had a cheap USB hub.  This one > here.  Decided to give it a try.  Must say it works great.  A bunch of us tired many two player games.  They all worked with out any trouble.  Even run it over a USB extension cable.  If you are in the market for one.  Well worth the $10.00.

USB Hub

Insignia_4_Port_USB_HubHave made many posts talking about PlayStation Classic and running AutoBleem.  While all this works great and recommend it.  The downside is you are stuck with single player games.  Looked more into this and turns you can play multiplayer.  All you need is a USB hub.  If you are using bluetooth controller you will need a powered USB hub.  However if you are like me and using the controllers that came if it you just need a regular hub.  Watch a video on YouTube. The guy showed up ones you can get easily get from Walmart or Best Buy.  My plan is the get this one > here, from Best Buy.  It’s a good price and small enough to pack up to take to a friends house.

AutoBleem

AutoBleem_LogoNow that I have my PlayStation Classic and tried a few games out.  Wanted to give AutoBleem a try.  The program runs of a USB thumb drive that you place in port two on the classic.  Which in turn lets you play games off the drive.  It is still in a beta from.  Have watched some videos on setting it up.  Very easy to do and it seems to work great.  The thumb drive has to be formatted Fat32.  The Drive volume needs to be SONY.  You place you games in the game folder.  The thing to remember is each game must be in their own folder titled the name of the game.  Very simple stuff.  I do have a Raspberry Pi running RetroPie.  Want to see which runs the games better.

PlayStation Classic Hands On

The PlayStation Classic I ordered came in the mail the other day.  Even with the Easter holiday it was fast shipping.  Before I tried out the program Auto Bleem for it.  Wanted to give some of the built in games a try.  Have seen and read many things about people complaining about it.  Thinking it can’t be as bad as they say.  After trying a few out I was right.  It isn’t that bad.  Think mostly people got mad when their favorite games were not on the list.  Sure the device could have been a lot better.   All so happy I didn’t play full price.  Will be back with another update when I give the hack a try.

PlayStation Classic Ordered

A few posted back talked about the PlayStation Classic.  That Best Buy was selling them for $30.00 and if they had in stock on their online store would ordered one.  Well they did so I ordered one.  With shipping and tax it cost me about $45.00.  Not bad, since they cost $130.00 when it came out in December (2018).  They were not about big hit.  Five months later they are marked down $100.00.  The many reason for buying one is there is a hack/program out there that lets you runs games off a USB thumb drive.  Which is easy to setup and doesn’t mess with the consoles in any way.  Once you unplug the USB drive it is stock again.  It is called Auto Bleem.   There are other hacks out there but will try this one first.   There is all so a device out there that lets you us a PS4 controller or any other Bluetooth controller.  Plan on getting one of those as well.   At some point there will be a video on the I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry YouTube channel.

PlayStation Classic

When the PlayStation Classic was released in December (2018) it didn’t go over very well.  Many people were very disappointed with the device and the games list.  All most fell for the hype.  All so, all most bought one when the first hacks were out for it.  Even after a few price drops it seemed still to be too much money.  The price has drop even more know.  Thinking about getting one again.  See my local Walmart has a few left and there are asking $40.00.  Which is much better the the original asking price of $130.00.  Then a few days back got an email from Best Buy showing some up coming sales.  And they have it going for $30.00 on a one day sale.  If they have any in their online store will order one.  If not will see if Walmart will price match.  Will be back with an update if I get my hands on one.

PlayStation Classic Full Game List

Posted in Just something to say with tags , , , , , , , on October 31, 2018 by getbent57

Back on September 20, 2018 Sony announced the PlayStation Classic.   This is a small box that looks like the original PlayStation that will have twenty games on it, that hooks up to your TV via HDMI.  At that time the only listed five of the games.  Well the other day (October 29, 2018) the put the full list.  You can read the official blog post > here.   Out of the twenty games there is only one I never heard of, Revelations: Persona.  As for the rest. Either played the buy owning, renting or by demo.  Of Course the internet got the pitchforks out.  Because because the game/games they were hoping for are not on there.  I think it is a good list.  A nice mix of different game types and styles.  It will be out December 3, 2018 and will cost $130.00 Canadian.  Like I said in my last post about this.  Wouldn’t be going out of my way to get one.  But if I seen one in store just might buy it.
