Batman_The_Dark_Knight_ReturnsLast year lucked out and got some good items at a local stores side walk sale.  They had one last month but it rain and I missed out.  This past Sunday (July 28, 2019) they had another one.  Didn’t want to miss out on this one.  So went nice and early.  Sadly I was a bit disappointed on what they had this time around.  There were no PS4 games, Funko or action figures I would want to own. Went inside the story to check out what else they have.  Seen they had some trade paperbacks.   Two stuck out that I had to buy, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and Batman: Mad Love and Other Stories.  Two more books to my every growing collection.

BatmanDarkKnightReturnsDeluxeEditionKnew it would a matter of time before the put Batman: The Dark Knight Returns: part one and two into one movie.  Well now they have.  It is being called DCU: Batman: The Dark Knight Returns (Deluxe Edition).  When I first seen this was thinking this is great for people that don’t all ready have part one and two.   Seamed like a money grab to there fans as well.   However there are some things that might make with worth buying all over again.  First off the two parts will flow together.  This is the biggest part there will be a 70 minute documentary about Frank Miller on the creation of the graphic novel which this movie is based on.  There will all so be cast and crew commentary.  They are saying was created for this release.  Of course all the extras from the part one and two.  If you buy the Blu-ray you will come with four collector cards with never before seen artwork.  That sounds pretty cool.  It set to come out October 8, 2013.  All this extra stuff is very enticing.  But pretty sure I will end up buying a copy.

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns: Part 2 Review

BatmanTheDarkKnightReturnsPart2.jpgI can now see why  they split The Dark Knight Returns into two parts.  January 29, 2013 Batman: The Dark Knight Returns: Part 2 was released.  Was waiting for my day off to watch this.  Sounding like a broken record here, but his is the best DC Universe Animated yet.  I like how they are keeping the stories darker and more aimed at for more of an adult audience.  Have never read the graphic novel this is based on so I had know idea how the story unfolds.  Very glad I didn’t know what happens next.  Because this is a very exciting story line.  Have never seen a version of Batman like this before.  It was very refreshing.  So much good stuff is crammed in this DVD.  Enjoyed ever second of it.  Now I am going to look into getting a copy of the graphic novel.

You guessed it.  This is a must buy.  If you have not seen part one.  Go get these two together.  You will not be disappointed.  Even for the casual fan of Batman who only knows the TV Batman cartoons will enjoy this one.

BatmanTheDarkKnightReturnsPart2January 29, 2013 Batman: The Dark Knight Returns: Part 2 will be out.  Part one came out back in September.  Which is pretty awesome by the way.   If you haven’t seen it, you need to.  So you know part two will be just as awesome.  Still thinking about getting the graphic novel it is based on.  It is a really good story.  Takes Batman to a whole new level.  Much darker story then most Batman stories.  The other day DC Universe Animated put out a “First Clip”.   You can see that here or below.  Have to say it is pretty sweet.

SupermanDoomsdayHave re-watched Superman/Doomsday today.  This is the first direct to DVD by DC Universe Animated original movies.  Saw this when it first came out back in 2007.   But never owned the DVD.  Until a few weeks ago when I seen it in a bin at Wal-mart for $5.   Have all the rest of the DC Universe movies.  All ways tried to get them the day the come out or a few days after because I am a fan of these movies.  There are 15 to date.  With the newest one coming out January 29, 2013, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 2.

For being about six years out this movie holds up pretty good.  The story is very good.  It tells the death and return of Superman.  This was a very big thing when it happened in the comic books.  I remember seeing it on the news back in the yearly nineteen’s .  I am more of a Batman fan.  But this is a good watch.  Plus there is a nice documentary on the disc called Requiem and Rebirth: Superman Lives!.  It tells the story how the came up with the idea to kill Superman and how it effected the real world.  Very interesting watch.

Wow, this movie Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 is the best one DC Universe Animated has put out.  I know I say that every time I review one of these but it is so very true this time around.  It is so different than another batman animated or live action for that matter.  The story pulls you in and keeps you there waiting to see what happens next.  The good and bad about this is you want to see more and we will in part two but will have to wait.  Part two will be out some time this winter.

This movie is a pure win.  Every thing about is awesome.  The story, the way the characters are presented, the animation and the soundtrack.  It all fits together so nicely.  Cannot say enough good this about it.  All so cannot think of any thing bad to say.  So go out and see this now.  A must own for any fan.

TheAvengers After work today I went to pick up a copy of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 since it was out today (September 25, 2012).  Then I was the display for The Avengers.  I didn’t see this movie when it was in theatres.  Keep hearing it was so good.  So I was looking the the million different version thinking should I or shouldn’t I buy this as well.  If you can guess from the title of the post I ended up getting it.  Plan to watch it the next day I have off.  So watch out for my review.  But first I have to watch Batman.

All most forgot that the DVD/Blu-ray of Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1 will be out Tuesday, September 25, 2012.  This is the latest in DC Universe Animated movies. Think this might bet lost in the shuffle since it comes out the same day The Avengers comes out. Want to see that to since I didn’t seen it when it came to theatres. How ever these DC movies are all ways good.  Looking forward to check this one out.  The only bummer is have to wait for the spring for part two to come out.  Think I will have to look into reading the graphic novel it based on.  This is the 15th movie these guys have put out.  I think I just about every one.

BatmanTheDarkKnightReturnsPart1 The next in the DC Universe Animated movies is, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, Part 1.  The Facebook pages says it will be out September 25, 2012.  With part 2 out some time in the spring.  This is the first time that one of these movies have been broken up into two parts.  Like the other DC Universe Animated movies it is based off of a graphic novel.  Which shares the same name, The Dark Knight Returns.  Have never read it, but have heard of it.  It is one of the famous ones Frank Miller created way back in 1986.  The trailer > here or below looks great.
