Batman: Knightfall Volume Three Review

batmanknightfallvol3Finished reading the third volume in the Batman: Knightfall series.  Like the other two volumes it still feels like they are missing some of the story.  In the first volume Bruce Wayne back gets broken and Robin’s father is kidnapped.  In this volume Bruce is all better and Robin’s father is back.  For how big these volumes are they don’t talk about how this all played out.  Volume three is pretty much broken into two parts.  The first half has Bruce come back to take over as the Batman from the crazy Jean-Paul Valley.  The second half has Bruce gone again with Nightwing taking over as Batman.

There is some very good stories in these Volume.  Was an interesting read but felt like there was still stuff missing.  Of course if you are going to read this one you need to read the other two volumes first.  Liked the first and  second volumes most of the stories are good.  Just wanted more answers to the questions they leave unanswered.

Batman: Knightfall Volume Two Review

batmanknightfallvol2Have finished reading volume two in the Batman: Knightfall series.  Liked this much better than the first volume.  The stories have a much better flow.  That is because the main character, Jean-Paul Valley, who takes over as Batman is the main focus.  You see him spiral out of control while fighting some interesting bad guys I have never seen more.  All so pretty cool to see the changes to the bat costume over all the story arcs.  The only thing I didn’t like was the ending.  It kind of came out of nowhere.  Felt me feeling like they left some thing out.  I guess they will talk about that in the next volume.

I liked the first volume but liked this second one much better.  The stories were better and the over all arc is better as well.  It would be silly just to read this volume with out reading the first.  Looking forward to reading the last volume.  Hoping that will answer some of the questions that felt like they left out.

Batman: Knightfall Volume One Review

BatmanKnightfallVol1.jpgHave finished reading volume one of the Batman: Knightfall series.  When I first started reading this it felt like there was some thing missing.  There are some characters I kind of knew about.  But not there backstory.  It starts off with a great backstory of Bane.  But there is none talking about Jean-Paul Valley (he takes over as Batman).  I am sure that the character has introduced before this story takes place.  But it would have been nice if they included it.  The first half of the book was a bit boring.  Felt like it was missing pieces.  How every about half way though.  It gets into a story with Scarecrow.  Which is really good.  Then the last of the book is really good as well.  The story flowed together nicely.  Things were explained.  Still while leaving it open for the next volume.

Really like reading this.  Even if the first part of the book feels like it is missing parts.  The last half of it makes up for it.  Now can’t wait to read volumes two and three.  Its hard to give a score since there are three books to this series.  They are like one whole over arcing story.  Will score each volume then score the whole thing when I am done reading them all.

BatmanKnightfallVol1 Volume three of the Batman: Knightfall storyline is out on paperback.  I am thinking about picking up all three.  This is the famous storyline were Bane breaks Batman’s back and a new Batman gets induced.  Each book is over 600 pages long and Amazon wants $65.22 for all three or about $22 for each.  Might seem like a lot of money but the book are pretty big.  Think they are well worth the price.  Going to think on it another night if I want to get them.

The novels are:

Batman: Knightfall Volume One

Batman: Knightfall Volume Two – Knightquest

Batman: Knightfall Volume Three – KnightsEnd
