Posted in I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on June 28, 2020 by getbent57

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry.  Wanted to see if four player Arcade games would run on the PlayStation Classic.  Have been trying out the Magnus RC build for the PlayStation Classic. This lets you play Arcade games as well as others.  Have a cheap four port USB hub. To test used the Classic controllers and two PS4 controllers.  Check out the video > here or below to see if or how well it works.

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry, have a game comparison for Lethal Enforcers. Have been trying out the Magnus RC build for the PlayStation Classic. This lets you play Arcade games as well as others. Gave an old favourite a try, Lethal Enforcers. Back in the day would rent the SEGA Genesis a lot. So got thinking why not compare the different versions. You can see the video > here or below.

Posted in I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on May 17, 2020 by getbent57

In this weeks video for the YouTube Channel, I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry, talk about running PSP games on a PlayStation Classic. For about a year have been using AutoBleem for the PlayStation Classic. It was version 0.6. something. With 0.8. something. They add all kinds of new things. One which lets you play some PSP games. It all so supports wired PS4 controllers. In this video give it a try. While not prefect. It nice to revisit some old favourites. You can see the video > here or below.

[Update] Since making this. There has been another new update to AutoBleem, 0.9.0

PSP Game With AutoBleem And Retroboot

Posted in Just something to say with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on April 1, 2020 by getbent57

A few posts back talked about using a newer version of AutoBleem which comes with a newer version of Retroboot.  This Retroboot is pretty much RetroArch running on the PlayStation Classic.  One thing I read it can play some PSP games.  Decided to give that a go.  Run into a small problem most PSP games you need an analog stick.  There is an easy fix for that.  Just plug in a PS4 controller.  Works right out of the box. Once it’s plugged in and turn it on.  It shows a screen to configure the controller.  Then it works great.  The few PSP games run ok for the most part.  There are some audio hiccups.  But they seems to play all right.  I know it will not work with all games but it’s pretty cool it can.

USB Thumb Stick Troubleshooting

Posted in I’d Rather Watch Paint Dry with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on March 28, 2020 by getbent57

A few posts back talk about there is a new version of AutoBleem out that I wanted to try.  Right now have the 0.6 (something) .  This new ones is 0.8(something).  It is pretty easy to update.  Just need to drag and drop the new files over to the USB stick and replace the files.   Didn’t really want to do this since I have other sticks.  The one I did try and use only showed it have 700 MBS free of 32GB.  But when I went to format it still read the same amount.  Then remember I used it to make a Linux boot drive with it.   So looked into a way to fix that.  There is a bunch of programs you can download. However there is an easier and faster way using Command Prompt.  Here is the tutorial I used > here.  Just scroll down until you see the Command Prompt how to part.  There are six simple commands to put in.  You don’t even have to type them.  Just copy and paste.  Just make sure are formatting the right disk or you can mess you computer up.

AutoBleem And Retroboot New Version

Posted in Just something to say with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on March 24, 2020 by getbent57

It was last May (2019) that I gave AutoBleem a try.  The program runs of a USB thumb drive.  Which lets you play games off the drive.  Was happy with a how it worked so never did any of the updates that came out over the year.  There is a new version of both out now.  So thinking I might just give it a try.  Don’t want to mess of the thumb drive I have all ready setup. Have another one to try it out.  The YouTube channel Restalgia has a video on how to set it up but all so show what’s new about it.  You can see that > here or below.

Half-Life Running On A PlayStation Classic

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , on August 16, 2019 by getbent57

People are still doing lots of great things with the PlayStation Classic.  Watched a video the other day on how to play Half-Life on it.  Of course you need to have the Classic and have Autobleem or Bleemsync so you can run RetroArch or RetroBoot.  Next you need to download some files to place on you USB drive.  The other main thing is you need a copy of Half-Life on your computer.  This is because you need to copy the game files over to your USB drive.  It sounds a bit complicated but it’s not.  That video I mentioned is a tutorial.  Which you can see > here or below.  I do own a copy of Half-Life from back in the Windows 98 SE days.  Might give this a try.
