Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Review

After putting in about 64 hours into Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag it’s time for a review.  Have said it a bunch of times all ready but will say it again this is the best Assassin’s Creed game.  Took a look at my save files from the past AC games and by far I have spent more hours playing this one and was never board once.  The controls are the best they every have been.  Simple but very effective.  Mind you one do run into AC rage every know again.  That it when you are running along planning your root but the guy will climb up the wrong thing or get stuck.  What really pulled me into this game was all the side stuff and exploring the world.  The world is big and beautiful.  There are very little load times.  You can be on a small island.  Run to your ship and set sail.  Have a ship battle and there is no loading.  Wasn’t too sure if I would like the ship/ship combat.  Turns out it is pure awesome.  Not only can you up grade the character you can upgrade your ship.  Doing so is fun, never becomes tedious.

This is the be AC game to date.  All the side missions and exploring are awesome.  The story is very good as well.  The only knock I have about this game is with some of the story missions.  There is far to may eavesdropping ones.  If you don’t do exactly what the games wants you do to you have to start over.  That can be a pain.   All so trying to get a 100% in each mission can be more trouble than its worth.  I am 95% complete in the game.  Have all the missions, side missions, collectibles and upgrades.  All this and stills can’t wait to go back in and play some more.  Just buy this game.  Well worth your time and money.

Assassin’s Creed Cool Website

Was checking out so post on Facebook and there was a interesting post from Ubisoft Canada.  It is for this > here website.  This site has a bunch of different products, like t-shirts, phone skins, dog tags, wall art and a whole lot more.  What makes this standout from site like it is.  They have premade graphic of Assassin’s Creed that you apply to the item you want to buy.  There is another twist.  There are some video trailers form Black Flag and AC 3 in while you can take a screen shot from to add to the items as well.  It is very cool.  After check that out wanted to see more about this site.  Knew it much be part of a bigger site.  It is, it’s called Cap That.  The main site lets you upload your pictures or video to add to all kinds of different products.  There is one very cool looking item called acrylic block > here.  Of course some of the prices are high but if the products look as good as they do on the website it might just be worth it.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Community Challenges

Yes, once again I am talking about Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.  This is by far the best Assassin’s Creed game and all so on my all time favourites list.  Talking about this game again because last night (February 13, 2014).  Started to play and a little box at the bottom of the creed pop up saying you are ranked 10th in the world for the community challenge.  If you are wondering what they are.  They  are like mini missions that take place that everyone playing the game can take part in.  For example, one might be plunder five ships.   There is a main goal set some thing like 300 000 ships.  Every one as a set number like five to add to the over all goal.  Of course you can do more than just five ships.  When the main goal is reach a prize (an item) to us in the game is unlocked.

The one going on right now is to use your pistols to take out the bad guys.  When I seen the box pop up.  I was like no way I am tenth over all in the world.  When I check the leaderboards there was my ID at number ten.  Got thinking I wonder if I can make it to number one.  So I set out to so that.  And guess what, I did.  Have never been at the top of any game leaderboard ever.  Oh, I do have proof took pictures of the leaderboards.  They are below.

  

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Nassau Song

Ever since I started to play Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and made it to Nassau (an island in the game) there is a background song or ambient song playing.  It is one of the best things I have ever heard in any game.  In fact when ever it would start to play I would stop what ever I was doing just to listen.  All so found this song is used when you visit Kingston was well.  Wanted to find out what it was called.  Didn’t have any luck.  How ever did find it on YouTube.  Which that video is > here or below, they are calling it Kingston & Ambient Music #2.  Give it a listen. It is even better with headphones on.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

As I am typing this (January 31, 2014) I have put in a bit over 38 hours into Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.  The game says I am about 56% complete.   All this and still only done the first five memories.  Just love doing all the side stuff.  Just have to get every single collectable and upgrade.  This is by far my favourite Assassin’s Creed game.  Wasn’t to sure about the boat battles at first but once you get the hand of them it is very fun.  Just don’t take on boats that are higher in level.  While this a fun game to play still get the Assassin’s Creed rage every now again.  That is when you are chasing some one down or just running along and you start up climb up something you don’t want to or getting hung up on something else.  That being said the controls are so much better than the games before it and they were pretty good.  My goal is to get every unlock, collectable and upgrade.  There is still may to get even after 50% complete.  If you have never played an Assassin’s Creed game or haven’t in a long time.  This is the one to get.

Leave Her Johnny

Have been playing a lot of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.  By far of the the best Assassin’s games and all so one of the best video game period.  If you are not familiar with this game.  You play as a pirate.  Being that you can sail your ship in a huge open world.  You have your crew on deck and they sing sea shanties.  There are all kinds you can unlock by finding and catching them.  There is one called Leave Her Johnny what is so awesome.  It was stuck in my head for days.  Ever time they start singing it in the game I stop and listen.  Found the same version on YouTube > here or below.  Give it a listen.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag

One of the gifts I received this year was Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.  Have played about four and half hours (as I am typing his post Dec 27, 2013) and every so far is pretty cool.  Own all the Assassin’s Creed games this one is much like the other but different at the same time.  The controls have changed a bit.  They are more refined and simpler.  This is a good thing.  Because it make free running and climbing better.  All so the weapon selecting is much better.

In this game you play as a pirate.   Wasn’t to sure about that at first but it is pretty cool.  Mind you only played about 6% of the game so far and haven’t been out in the open water yet.  I hear that the boat stuff is much better than in AC 3.  Which I wasn’t a fan of.  If you have never played an Assassin’s Creed game think this one is a good one to start with.  You start out with fresh new character, a fresh new world and much improved controls.

Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD

Looks like we are getting more Assassin’s Creed goodness.   Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will be out at the end of the month.  But there is more yesterday they announced Assassin’s Creed Liberation HD.   The Liberation came first come out of the Playstation Vita last year.  It was set in the same world as AC 3.   It looked very good.  Never got to play it.  Now it looks like I will be able to give it a try.   As you can tell by the title it will be a high definition version of the game with 15 new missions.  You will be able to download it January 14, 2014 for $20 on the Playstation  3.  It will all so be out for the 360 on PC some time in January as well.  Check out the trailer > here or below.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Limited Edition

Just like with Assassin’s Creed 3, Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag will have a limited edition.  This $130 bundle comes with,

• The game of course
• An 18 inch Captain Edward Kenway stature
• Embroidered Assassin’s Creed pirate flag
• 80 page art book
• Full game soundtrack
• SteelBook game case

All that stuff is very cool.  How ever there are other editions you can buy if you pre-order.  If you go to this > website they have four others.  There is the standard and special.  But you need to take a look at the Skull, Buccaneer or Black Chest Edition.  That last one is very slick.  I am sure it will cost an arm and a leg.  This game looks pretty awesome.  I know I will be buying a copy.  Just hope the fixed the problems that were in AC 3.  Oh, there is all so a new trailer out > here of below.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Trailer

Pretty sure this will be another of a thousands posts I will make about Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.  Before and after it comes out this coming October (2013).  Today they have put out a new trailer.  This one is big news because it shows of gameplay.  This game will be big on open water combat.  Wasn’t a big fan of that in AC 3 but it might be better in this game.  The two things that stuck out for me in this trailer are, two handed swords and the big one is going under water.  This is a first for these games.   You could swim in other game, dive a little bit.  But his one has a whole under water world.  With combat and treasures.   Still under sure if you can go under water every were or just in certain  places.  Still seven months away from the game will be out.  So there will be a lot more info before than.
