CapeBretonBikeRally.pngChecked out what was going one at the 2014 Cape Breton Bike Rally.  Have to say it was setup pretty nice with only a few weeks to planning.  There were lots of vendors and live music.  Have been to all the Cape Breton Bikefest.  While it is pretty much the same thing.  Did like how the Bike Rally had the motorcycle parking set up.  Was all ready to take some pictures.  Managed to get one.  Forgot to charge up the battery.  Will have better luck tomorrow with the picture taking.  Did buy myself a rally t-shirt.  You can see what it looks like in the pictures below and the one picture I got of the rally.

CapeBretonBikeRallyGood news it looks like the Cape Breton Bikefest has been saved.  There was an article in the Post > here talking about it.  The event will now be called Cape Breton Bike Rally.  It has been taken over by a new group.    The event will take place in the same locations and time, Aug 1 – 4, 2014.  They all ready have a new website in the works > here.  There nothing on it at the moment (June 20, 2014) other than the new logo.  Which is pretty nice.  Am sure there will be lots of information on it very soon. There is all as a FaceBook group you can join > here, or just do a search in FaceBook for Cape Breton Bike Rally 2014.  Am very happy there will be a bike rally this year.  Hope this new rally will last for years.

Cape Breton Bikefest 2014 Cancelled

cb-bikefest.jpgFor the past five years plan an take days off to enjoy Cape Breton Bikefest.  This year would make it the sixth one.  While at work this morning (June 17, 2014) a co-worked told me that Bikefest was cancelled.  Thought she was joking.  When I got home and see it on Facebook as well as a few online newspapers.  Knew it wasn’t a joke.  A bit bummed out that is was cancelled.  Am sure there will still be a lot of bikes around.  What they are saying why it was cancelled, “due to lack of sponsorships and funding, it has made the event impossible to put on this year.”  I really hope this isn’t the end of Bikefest.  It is one of best things going on in the summer.

cb-bikefest.jpgWith winter looking liking its not going any were any time soon.  Looking forward to the day I can get my motorcycle out for a spin.  All so looking forward to the 2014 Cape Breton Bikefest.  This year it will run from August 1 to 4, 2014.  So far my plan is to take a lot more pictures. Got some nice ones last year with my new camera.  Another goal is to see if can find a new pair of motorcycle boots.  There are all kinds of different vendors there.  But ever really stopped an looking at any of it.  Most of the time its all leather, flams or skulls stuff.  Don’t like that kind of stuff.  As summer gets closer I am sure I will be talking about the bikefest a bunch more times.
